Leveraging Citi's unparalleled network spanning over 90 countries, GNB provides a single, integrated platform for clients to manage their global banking needs. Job Summary

The Associate Vice President, Client Manager is a key client-facing banker within Citi's Global Network Banking team in Sweden. This role is focused on delivering a best-in-class client experience through seamless execution across onboarding and implementation, service coordination, and credit management. Acting as a central point of contact for clients and internal partners, the AVP Client Manager ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective relationship support across an assigned portfolio of multinational clients in the Swedish market. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing complex operational processes while building strong and lasting client relationships within the Swedish and broader Nordic corporate banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Relationship & Origination Support

  • Maintain professional and responsive relationships with key client representatives across multinational corporations active in Sweden, ensuring consistent and high-quality engagement.

  • Develop a solid understanding of client business drivers and actively support Subsidiary Account Managers, Regional Account Managers (RAMs), and Parent Account Managers (PAMs) in origination and cross-sell activities.

  • Identify and originate lower-complexity business opportunities within the assigned portfolio, contributing to revenue growth and wallet deepening across the Swedish and Nordic corridor.

  • Actively contribute to business campaigns, including account planning, wallet sizing, and corridor or product-specific initiatives aligned with the Swedish and broader Nordic market context.

2. Credit Management

  • Manage credit requests in close coordination with Risk, Legal, and relevant internal credit teams, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.

  • Monitor credit lines on an ongoing basis and escalate exceptions promptly, maintaining a sound and well-governed credit portfolio in line with Swedish and EU regulatory expectations.

3. Onboarding & Implementation

  • Own the end-to-end client onboarding experience for assigned clients — from initiating CRM requests through to post-implementation follow-up — ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.

  • Oversee client documentation standards and facilitate targeted client training programs to support effective product and platform adoption in line with Swedish market requirements.

4. Service Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for managing and resolving client escalations, delivering timely and effective solutions that enhance client satisfaction.

  • Facilitate and optimize day-to-day operational flows, proactively tracking client feedback and identifying opportunities for process improvement within the Swedish operating environment.

5. KYC Ownership

  • Act as the designated KYC (Know Your Customer) owner for an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring full compliance with Swedish and EU AML/KYC regulatory requirements.

  • Take responsibility for the completion, maintenance, and accuracy of client profiles, ensuring all documentation meets internal standards and the stringent regulatory obligations applicable in Sweden and across the Nordic region.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in client management or a closely related role within the financial services industry; experience within the Swedish or broader Nordic corporate banking environment is preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Solid product knowledge across transaction banking and operational processes; working knowledge of KYC/AML regulatory requirements, including Swedish and EU-specific frameworks.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and diverse stakeholder groups effectively.

  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to resolve client issues, manage escalations efficiently, and drive continuous process improvements.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to delivering a high level of client service; ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships across a multinational portfolio.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work — essential for managing compliance-sensitive processes and client documentation.

  • Languages: Fluency in Swedish and English (written and spoken) is required; additional Nordic language skills (Norwegian, Danish, Finnish) are advantageous.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.

  • A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) is advantageous.

This Role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.
