Job Overview
Are you a product professional with a passion for Wholesale Lending and data-driven innovation? Citi is looking for a Product Developer (C12) to shape the future of Wholesale Credit Risk products, owning the end-to-end product lifecycle and delivering solutions that directly influence how Citi manages credit risk at a global scale. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of product strategy, data analytics, and financial services, working alongside senior stakeholders across Sales, Technology, and Business Management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for wholesale credit risk solutions — from business case and requirements definition through to release planning, delivery, and post-launch tracking.
- Define and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap, aligning priorities with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and investment planning.
- Translate market trends, client needs, and industry research into actionable product enhancements across data analytics, reporting, CRM, trade workflows, and trade processing platforms.
- Partner with Sales, Technology, and Business Management teams to scope product releases, agree on delivery priorities, and champion the product within the user community.
- Create detailed project plans, business requirements documents, and technical specifications that enable accurate and efficient product execution.
- Engage directly with business managers and senior leaders to understand long-term strategic goals and incorporate them into the product and solutions roadmap.
- Maintain a strong focus on governance and controls, conducting access reviews, approvals, and controls testing to ensure products meet compliance and risk standards.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in product development, with direct involvement in end-to-end project delivery within financial services or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop solutions, and drive measurable outcomes across cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in data analysis and business analysis, including troubleshooting data quality issues and conducting exploratory analysis of large business datasets.
- Proficiency with analytical tools such as Qlikview, Tableau, or Microsoft Access to support data investigations and management reporting.
- Strong project management capability, with experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives from initiation through to delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed global teams and present clearly to senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in wholesale lending or wholesale credit risk environments, with familiarity of the associated products, processes, and regulatory landscape.
- Hands-on experience working with AI tools in a product or analytical context, with an interest in applying emerging technologies to financial services solutions.
- Familiarity with product development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and their practical application in a financial services setting.
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members, with a natural inclination to share knowledge and support team development.
