Job Overview

Strategic Risk & Controls Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic partner to regional product management teams and functional teams — including Risk & Controls, Business Product Teams, ICRM, ORM, and COO — to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across Wealth's deposits and lending product suite.
  • Provide executive level thought leadership to Product Heads, surfacing areas of elevated firm risk and making the case for targeted investments in technology, talent, and infrastructure to strengthen the control environment.
  • Proactively identify control gaps and collaborate with business and risk stakeholders to design and implement robust, scalable solutions that address vulnerabilities before they materialize.

Product Governance & Standardization

  • Drive the rationalization and streamlining of risk management routines across Deposits and Lending GAUs, products, and features spanning all regions with Wealth presence — balancing risk mitigation with business reward.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and integrity of Deposits and Lending GAUs within the Wealth organization.

Program Execution & Cross-Functional Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of high-priority programs with direct impact on deposits and lending products, including Data Initiatives, Process Simplification efforts, Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and Issue closure.
  • Bring deep risk management expertise to bear on prioritized initiatives, ensuring that governance considerations are embedded from ideation through implementation.
  • Operate as a connective force across geographies and time zones, aligning diverse stakeholders around shared objectives and driving initiatives from concept to completion.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Expertise

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in deposit and lending operational risk management, product risk, or a related discipline within a large bank or financial services organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge across the deposits and lending products landscape, including underwriting, payments, and understanding of the applicable regulations
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional programs in large, matrixed global organizations.
  • Deep familiarity with Citi's MCA risk management framework, GAU management. Good understanding of Transformation agenda is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

Leadership & Influence

  • Exceptional ability to influence without authority — building consensus, navigating competing priorities, and driving alignment across senior stakeholders in multiple regions and time zones.
  • A natural collaborator and relationship builder who can operate effectively across product, risk, technology, compliance, and operations functions.
  • Demonstrated success translating strategic ideas into tangible, measurable outcomes.

Communication & Analytical Skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex risk and governance topics into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk/reward trade-offs and make data-informed recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment shaped by shifting requirements around risk and controls and new business needs.
