  • Collaboration and Requirements Gathering: Actively participate in database design meetings, collaborating with application development teams, architects, and other stakeholders to define data requirements and architect effective solutions.
  • Business Logic Implementation: Translate complex business logic from high-level languages like Java into efficient, scalable, and maintainable Oracle PL/SQL code.
  • API Support: Design and create optimized data structures and database objects specifically to support API responses, ensuring fast and reliable data retrieval.
  • Code Quality and Review: Conduct thorough code reviews for all database-related code (PL/SQL, SQL) to ensure adherence to best practices, performance standards, data quality, and security guidelines.
  • Performance Tuning: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in SQL queries and PL/SQL code. Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and other tuning techniques.
  • CI/CD and DevOps: Partner with the infrastructure and DevOps teams to design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for seamless, automated database deployments and updates.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and maintain logical and physical data models to ensure data integrity and alignment with business requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting production problems, and ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior developers and team members on database best practices, coding standards, and performance tuning.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database development, with a focus on PL/SQL.
  • PL/SQL Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in writing and optimizing complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions.
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong command of advanced SQL, including analytical functions and complex joins.
  • Database Design: Proven experience in database design, data modeling, and creating database objects from scratch.
  • Performance Tuning: Demonstrated experience with Oracle performance tuning, including using execution plans, AWR reports, and other diagnostic tools.

  • Cloud Experience: Experience with Oracle databases in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS RDS, OCI).
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or other relevant certifications are a plus.
