Job Overview

This role is for a highly skilled and hands-on Junior Applications Development Engineer at the Officer level within the payment + blockchain technology Organization. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the strategic platform and product development for the Citi token services business, contributing directly to key multi-year, transformational initiatives such as the tokenized deposits, stablecoin solution within the end-to-end ecosystem. This position demands strong technical proficiency, a hands-on approach to Java + cloud native deployment /  development, and an enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools and prompt-based engineering.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in individual contributor role
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred .
• 5 + years of relevant experience in Java + Angular(Added advantage)
• Should have some exposure of AI Agent / LLM’s  
• Languages: hands-on expertise in Java (8–21) — Core Java, Spring Boot, micro-services, deign patterns
• Databases: Basic understanding JPA, schema migrations and NoSQL MongoDB.
• Messaging: Hands-on experience with Kafka  or IBM MQ
• Domain Expertise : Payment domain knowledge will be added advantage
• Asset Tokenization: Spearhead initiatives related to the tokenization of assets, understanding the underlying blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and their application within financial services.
• Solution Delivery: Oversee the full software development lifecycle, design to implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaboration: Work closely with tech leads & should own end-to-end.
