Job Overview

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications:

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
• Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred

Citi is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of journal transformation services within the Oracle Ledger Program, a high-visibility financial data engineering initiative operating at global scale. In this role, you will design and develop data transformation pipelines built on AbInitio, lead an APAC-based L3 support team, and contribute innovative ideas and technical utilities to Citi's Data Engineering Service Pillar. This is a senior technical leadership opportunity for an engineer who combines deep data engineering expertise with the ability to influence architecture decisions and guide high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of journal data transformation services built on AbInitio, ensuring pipelines are reliable, scalable, and aligned to the Oracle Ledger Program's architecture.
• Architect and enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation across the data transformation layer to maintain quality and consistency.
• Lead the APAC L3 support team, overseeing the resolution of high-impact production issues related to data processing and journal transformation workflows.
• Partner with multiple technology and business management teams to define system enhancements that support the deployment of new capabilities and process improvements.
• Contribute innovative ideas and develop technical utilities that advance the Data Engineering Service Pillar, improving the broader platform's capability and efficiency.
• Evaluate complex business and system processes to diagnose root causes of high-impact problems and deliver well-reasoned, lasting solutions.
• Ensure all application and pipeline designs adhere to the overall architectural blueprint, maintaining alignment across infrastructure, architecture, and data engineering functions.
• Mentor and coach mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work effectively to develop team capability and sustain delivery outcomes.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 10+ years of experience in application development or systems analysis, with a significant portion spent on data engineering or data pipeline development.
• Deep expertise in at least one area of application or data engineering, with the ability to act as the primary technical authority for teams and senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data transformation pipelines in an enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage project delivery, and maintain momentum across competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience managing and delivering complex technology projects end-to-end, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AbInitio for developing and managing data transformation workflows at enterprise scale.
• Familiarity with Oracle financial systems or ledger-based platforms, providing useful context for the business domain.
• Master's degree in a relevant technical or analytical discipline.
• Experience leading geographically distributed support or engineering teams, particularly across APAC time zones.
