The Senior Business Associate is an individual contributor position in Citi’s Chief Data Office (CDO) within the Chief Operating Office (COO) organization. The mandate of COO is to lead the Transformation efforts of the firm to deliver client excellence, improved operating efficiency and returns. As part of COO, the CDO organization is responsible for an enterprise-wide effort to transform and strengthen the firm’s data, modernize data infrastructure while simplifying the data operating model and executing the strategic priorities for the firm. The CDO defines and enforces data-related policies and standards across Citi and equips the firm with the tools required to take ownership and accountability for data governance and management. The CDO comprises of four functional groups: Business Aligned Data Leads, Core Data Delivery, Data Enablers, and Data Functions & Partners.

As part of the Business Execution Team supporting USPB, Wealth, and Legacy Franchise Business Aligned Data Lead, the Senior Business Associate is responsible for executing the Data organization business strategy, provide support for strategic initiatives, managing common capabilities, and driving cross-business initiatives to achieve simplification, increased productivity, and efficiency. May manage ad hoc projects as requested.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Data Councils in the curation, execution, review of content presented, recording of minutes, and tracking of action items. Lead the coordination of agendas, follow-ups tracking, stakeholder communications, and material development. Track coverage of risk topics and timely progress of committee follow-up items.
  • Help manage an integrated forward calendar for Data Council review sessions to help ensure coverage is comprehensive to meet Data Council schedule and aligned with committee charter and applicable Policies and Standards.
  • Support relationship with external vendors on behalf of the data organization. This includes ensuring compliance with regulations, managing performance, and mitigating risks.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on presentation materials submitted to ensure effective, appropriate and accurate communications.
  • Support for regulatory validation activities tied to transformation requirements. 
  • Assembly, development and structuring of presentation decks.
  • Management reporting of business intelligence and other key Investments initiatives.
  • Supporting a culture of continuous delivery and continuous improvement through post-project reviews, capturing and applying lessons learnt.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and support functions such as Finance, Risk, COO, Internal Audit, Legal and Compliance.
  • Identify key risks, whether stated or not, and manage to resolution or escalate accordingly.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members; prepare management analysis and reporting and maintain high quality KPIs.
  • Work with Business Execution Leads to streamline processes, technology, and build consistent procedures and guidelines across businesses.
  • Design and provide day-to-day support to management in the form of ad hoc analyses and presentations for senior management, framing issues and synthesizing key findings of team analyses and recommendations; special projects as required.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with 6-10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, preferably in a role that requires superior problem solving, analytical thinking / capabilities and excellent oral / written communication skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions.
  • Must be extremely organized, motivated and a self-starter; desire to improve processes with a risk and control lens.
  • Track record of results and delivery within the Financial Services/Investment Banking industry
  • Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge.
  • Ability to work with data, organizing, analyzing and drawing out insights.
  • Team player with ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines with ability to operate with limited level of direct supervision.
  • Great sense of urgency and adaptability to meet the needs of very senior level executives operating in a global environment.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills. Previous experience in project management a plus.
  • High proficiency in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

As the Chief Data Office builds their team and embraces Agile ways of working to scale and accelerate their impact, the Chief of Staff team will need to enable the business functions in support of critical work. This role requires advanced understanding of Excel, and help with analysis and reporting of business, headcount, and consent order reporting. Additionally, this role will work on ad hoc projects.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$113,840.00 - $170,760.00
