Citi has established a centralized Client organization and strategy to strengthen how we deliver for clients across the bank and ensure that we deliver Citi in a consistent and disciplined way through a centralized view of our client strategy, segmentation, and coverage model.  Citi’s clients and customers are at the centre of delivering our strategy.  The Client Data Governance Office drives the planning and oversight for the adoption of Citi’s data policy and standards to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and governance across the areas within the Client organization including resources management, credit management, research, marketing and content, coverage alignment, and client data. 

Reporting the Client Chief Administrative Officer, the Head of Data Governance for Client will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Client Data Governance Strategy,  Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy. This role is responsible for defining the data governance strategy, Data Risk and Controls framework, and roadmap, including alignment with related enterprise-wide and business/function/region data governance documentation. 

You will serve as the central point off contact accountable for orchestrating data governance within the client organisation, including driving the implementation of the Citi data governance policy. Establishing the required governance structures within client, including providing updates to the senior leadership of client, to enforce the Client Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and lead appropriate governance working groups, driving consensus, issue resolution, ownership, and alignment on data quality with respect to data assets owned by client.

Additionally, you will be expected to engage and coordinate with key stakeholders SMEs, data owners, Data stewards, technology owners, and the SM&C data leads to drive the execution of data controls and strategic data priorities.

As a senior manager of managers, you will lead the client DGO team, specifically teams covering

(i)Data remediation -The remediation team will drive and oversee the execution and delivery of regulatory remediation activities and commitments, and engage in data governance reviews, exams, and inquiries with regulators and within Citi,

(ii) Policy & Compliance – This team is responsible for facilitating all aspects of the Client Data Governance Strategy, Management and leadership of data governance programs, principles, policy, practices and standards including industry best practice

(iii)  Central Reporting & Oversight- This team provides oversight and governance to Consent Order deliverables including Use Case Data Operating Model Adoption, Booking Controls and Operations Controls, EUCs, and MTP Reduction/STP Improvements

Additional responsibilities

  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including the EMT, Board and regulators to communicate the data strategy and progress towards achieving it 
  • Work with the functions, lines of business and regions to define the prioritized scope for the enterprise data program
  • Integrate and align functions, lines of business and regional data roadmaps into a client data roadmap to deliver on the prioritized scope
  • Build the client business case for the data programs by collaborating with leaders from functions, lines of business and regions and track findings
  • Responsible for executing functional strategy in Data Governance area, including publishing and embedding the Data Governance strategy 
  • Facilitate consensus and resolve confusion for data governance areas that require integration across Enterprise and Federated data teams
  • Develop medium- to long-term plans and execute functional Data Governance strategies#

Experience/Qualifications

  • 15+ years relevant experience in in Banking, Financial Services, with 10+ years’ managerial experience
  • Strong ability to perform extensive strategic leadership in delivering business value through vision, governance, and executive management
  • Strategic mindset, with ability to foresee future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies 
  • Manage through ambiguity by making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
  • Communicates effectively; develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Experience creating and executing against frameworks that improve the quality and value of data to meet regulatory commitments and enhance risk management
  • Experience leveraging glossary, lineage, and data quality tools to drive governance
  • Experience leading an organization through significant change covering strategy, operations, process, structure, culture and behavior, ranging from operational change management to business-wide transformation 
  • Experience creating and being a champion for a positive risk culture that supports sustainable business growth through transparent engagement, a partnership approach, and a no-tolerance approach for behavior that exposes the organization to an inappropriate amount of risk
  • Able to anticipate and balance needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional leadership skills to build a culture of accountability, collaboration and teamwork across the organization
  • Working knowledge of Citi’s Data Operating Model

$250,000.00 - $500,000.00
