Description:

The VP, Program Officer is a key member of the Community Investing and Development (CID) team, reporting to CID’s Head of Community Programs & CSR India. The CID team works to enhance Citi’s positive social impact through community partnerships, philanthropy and volunteerism.  The Program Officer will work closely with the Director to develop, implement and monitor community programming in alignment with regulatory requirements and Citi’s global community investing approach.   

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and execution of community programming aligned with Cit’s social impact priorities and India’s CSR Regulations including Companies Act 2013, Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA), Income tax regulations governing CSR contributions, etc 
  • Identify and vet implementing partners and conduct due diligence in line with internal practices and external requirements
  • Evaluate and present funding proposals to key internal stakeholders based on in-depth analysis and ensure proper program documentation as required (e.g. impact analysis, MOUs, etc)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to ensure timely, high-quality documentation and maintenance of a centralized repository for all projects within scope 
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations for internal and external audiences as required
  • Execute key monitoring and evaluation activities of partnerships, including analysis and review of reporting documentation
  • Conduct field visits (virtual and in person) to project sites to assess implementation, impact and alignment
  • Stay up to date with CSR regulatory developments, sector trends and best practices in corporate philanthropy environment in India and impact measurement
  • Serve as subject matter expert of community investing and CSR in India, share best practice and latest industry trends
  • In partnership with Citi India’s communications team, support efforts to demonstrate and communicate positive impact.
  • Coordinate volunteer opportunities and employee engagement initiatives to foster a culture of social responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in community development, philanthropy or social impact in India
  • Subject matter knowledge and experience in India CSR policy and practice
  • Experience supporting complex, forward-thinking partnerships and initiatives
  • Experience in working with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly written and verbal communication, and comfort communicating with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to exhibit sound independent judgement
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and contribute positively to a high-energy, high-performing team environment
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills - extremely detail-oriented
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with an ability to juggle competing demands   
  • Highly proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
