Job Overview
The Engineer Sr Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and development of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the budgetary requirement definition for assigned product area, develop functional specifications, and create project plans and software release schedules
- Partner with business and development teams to identify engineering requirements and assist in defining application and system requirements and processes and maintain engineering relationships with the end user/client
- Ensure requirements/tasks from technology departments and/or end users are communicated to stakeholders
- Provide solutions and processes in accordance with audit initiatives and requirements and consult with Business Information Security officers (BISOs) and TISOs
- Exhibit in-depth understanding of engineering concepts and principles
- Assist with training activities and mentor junior team members
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role
- Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
- Project Management experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
- Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Proven track record of operational process change and improvement
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Reviews and records all software purchases (software licenses, quantities, and rights) for processing into Citi’s asset management repository.
- Identifies software assets from purchase transactions and normalizes those assets against Citi’s Software License catalog to ensure inventory consistency.
- Ensures complete and accurate representation of Citi’s software asset inventory by reviewing PO information in the context of supporting documentation; including, but not limited to, contracts, work orders, invoices, and other related documentation.
- Analyzes entries within the Software License catalog to ensure naming, license types, versions, metric, and other metadata is accurate and consistent. Requests and/or creates new license catalog entries and submits changes and additions as appropriate.
- Ensures the Software License catalog remains current; de-certifying products when necessary and discontinuing their publication in Citi’s corporate procurement system.
- Collaborates with and provides guidance to internal Contract Management, and Software Asset Management teams to ensure license assets are recorded and tracked under the appropriate contracts.
- Partners with the License Software Management team to assist in the design and implementation of automated methodologies that capture license consumption/usage, relate consumption to license models, and ensure proper license position reporting.
- Coordinates with Citi procurement, contract, and software asset managers to make sure licenses are properly accounted for within the appropriate inventory management system.
- Assists global, regional, and in-country software inventory management teams to ensure accurate processing of software licenses into inventory.
- Establishes and documents procedures and best practices for efficient and accurate software license inventory.
- Proposes/promotes automation improvements to continually improve the productivity, capacity, and integrity of Citi’s software PO cleanse and normalization processes.
- Provides periodic and ad hoc reports regarding PO Cleanse and Normalization productivity and related activities.
- Conducts periodic reviews (i.e. internal, self-audits) to evaluate the accuracy of software inventory and ensure consistency within software license inventory.
