Job Overview
The Fraud Ops Analyst 2 (C10) is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the execution of fraud risk management strategies and controls to minimize fraud losses and protect the merchant acquiring portfolio. The individual will assist in a broad range of fraud operations activities, including fraud detection, merchant onboarding review, merchant monitoring, transaction reviews, and investigative case management. By applying established fraud risk policies and risk/reward decision-making methodologies, the analyst helps identify, investigate, and mitigate fraudulent activities while maintaining a positive client experience. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, risk partners, product teams, and external stakeholders to monitor emerging fraud trends, strengthen fraud controls, and support effective fraud loss prevention initiatives.
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Work on shifting schedule (APAC/EMEA/NAM) and open to a 24/7 shift environment, including weekends and public holidays.
- Review and perform short- and long-term forecasting analysis and standardized fraud analysis.
- Make judgments based on practice and precedence, and work within guidelines, under general supervision.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of business/industry standards and practices.
- Identify inconsistencies in data or results and exchange information in a concise and rational method.
- Escalate any concerns or issues to the Manager. Provide feedback and recommendations on the next course of action in relation to Fraud Risk Assessment.
- Build strong relationships with peers. Demonstrate fundamental understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area.
- Impact the business directly on the quality of the tasks/services provided.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience ideally finance related courses
- Minimum 1 - 2 years working experience in Fraud Operations, Fraud Risk Management, Payments, Merchant Acquiring, Cards, Financial Services or similar role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates a foundational understanding of the financial Industry and related skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical skills
