Job Overview

The Senior Officer – Tax & Reporting Custodian Bank provides operational taxation responsibility. This role responsible for Taxation on Securities Transactions and Mutual/Discretionary Funds. The position requires applying in-depth disciplinary knowledge through the provision of value-added perspectives or operational services and may contribute to the development of new techniques, automation, models, and plans within the area of expertise.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and diplomacy skills, with responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results, and shared accountability for project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform overall tax liabilities of the Issuer and Investor Services Operations at Citi, both directly and in connection with client transactions, including compliance, tax reporting, and controversy processes.
• Contribute to tax filing and regulatory reporting for Mutual Fund Clients and Direct Clearing Custody including perform DGT form maintenance.
• Contribute for project management skills.
• Perform payments to tax authorities in compliance with relevant tax regulations.
• Integrate expertise and industry knowledge within the defined area.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of how areas harmoniously integrate within the sub-function.
• Coordinate and contribute to the overall goals of the function.
• Use communication and diplomacy skills to influence and guide colleagues in other areas and occasionally external customers.
• Collaborate and work with a team and able to work independently.
• Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
• Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions by considering the firm’s reputation, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets through compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
• Apply sound ethical judgment regarding behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalate, manage, and report control issues transparently.
• Create accountability for maintaining high standards of performance and compliance.

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Custodian bank or tax function experience.
• Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
