Working at Citi is far more than just a job. A career with us means joining a team of more than 230,000 dedicated people from around the globe. At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact.
Job Overview
Citi is looking for an experienced Issue Management Lead Analyst to play a central role in how the firm identifies, tracks, and resolves control gaps across its global operations. Sitting within Citi's risk and control function, this role drives the quality and effectiveness of issue remediation — partnering with business units, audit, and senior leadership to ensure sustainable, root-cause-driven outcomes. If you bring deep expertise in operational risk, compliance, or audit and thrive in a high-impact environment where rigorous analysis meets senior-level engagement, this is an opportunity to shape how one of the world's leading financial institutions manages its control landscape.
Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination and end-to-end management of issues across key business and functional stakeholders, ensuring timely and compliant resolution in line with Issue Management policy.
- Conduct quality reviews of active issues to assess adherence to standards, identify weaknesses in remediation plans, and escalate risks before they affect closure timelines.
- Facilitate quality control engagement with business and functional teams across the full lifecycle of high-impact issue remediations and critical remediation programs.
- Maintain a robust issue inventory with accurate tracking and quality metrics, providing clear visibility into control gaps, remediation progress, and escalation points for senior management.
- Apply data analytics to assess remediation trends, surface emerging risks, and translate findings into actionable insights that improve the firm's control environment.
- Challenge stakeholders to move beyond surface-level fixes by developing corrective action plans that address underlying root causes and incorporate lessons learned for lasting improvement.
- Partner with internal audit, business units, and senior leaders to drive issue resolution, support informed decision-making, and reinforce a culture of risk accountability across the organization.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- A minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or a control-related function within financial services.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, measure, and manage risks and controls at both a transactional and systemic level.
- Experience designing and implementing corrective action plans that address root causes and deliver measurable, lasting process improvements.
- Solid understanding of compliance laws, regulatory requirements, and financial services industry best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risk and control activities and translate data into clear, decision-ready insights.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, with the confidence to engage, challenge, and influence at senior management level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to produce clear reporting and structured analysis.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with issue management frameworks, policies, and governance processes within a large financial institution.
- Experience working with Managers Control Assessment (MCA) processes or equivalent internal control self-assessment methodologies.
- Exposure to issue tracking and case management systems used within risk and control environments.
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as finance, risk management, business, or law.
What We Offer
At Citi, you will work at the intersection of risk, controls, and senior decision-making — with direct access to global leadership and the opportunity to shape how the firm manages and closes its most significant control issues. This role offers real influence, cross-functional collaboration, and a platform to grow your expertise at one of the world's most complex financial institutions.
- A hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, supporting a sustainable and productive work rhythm.
- Direct exposure to Citi's global risk and control agenda, working alongside senior management and cross-functional teams across the organization.
- Opportunities to build expertise in issue management governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-wide risk frameworks that are central to the firm's transformation.
- Access to professional development resources, internal mobility, and career pathways within Citi's broad risk and control community.
- A performance-driven environment where your analytical thinking, judgment, and ability to drive outcomes are recognized and rewarded.
- Comprehensive benefits and wellbeing support tailored to your location, covering financial wellbeing, health, and work-life balance.
Apply today to take ownership of high-impact issue remediation at Citi and help build the control discipline that protects one of the world's leading financial institutions.
