Citi Global Wealth Investment Solutions Technology is on a mission to build the world’s best next-generation investment platforms—data-driven, AI-enabled, and seamlessly integrated across all client and operational touchpoints. We are seeking a Digital Assets & Emerging Technology Lead to shape and execute the enterprise strategy for innovation, digital assets, and emerging technologies. This lead will drive platform-first, product-agnostic initiatives that connect traditional rails (custody & clearing) with off-rail, blockchain-enabled systems, enabling real-time decisioning, AI-powered automation, and future-ready client experiences.

This role is pivotal in realizing a holistic, enterprise-grade investment ecosystem, enabling Citi to lead the market in both innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Digital Assets & Emerging Tech Strategy

• Define and execute Citi Wealth’s vision for digital assets, tokenization, and emerging technology adoption across investment solutions
• Bridge on-rail (traditional) and off-rail (blockchain/DLT) platforms to create a unified, product-agnostic investment ecosystem
• Shape AI-enabled, programmable platforms for real-time portfolio, trading, and advisory workflows
• Establish multi-year, enterprise-level innovation roadmaps aligned with strategic business objectives

2. Platform & Architecture Leadership

• Lead design of next-gen investment platforms, ensuring interoperability across custody, clearing, portfolio, and advisory workflows
• Drive adoption of cloud-native, API-first, event-driven architectures, enabling real-time data, AI-driven decisioning, and automation
• Ensure emerging technology initiatives integrate seamlessly with enterprise data pipelines and analytics platforms
• Establish reusable, scalable, and secure infrastructure for digital assets, smart contracts, and tokenized products

3. AI & Data-Driven Innovation

• Embed AI/ML-driven insights and automation into digital assets and investment workflows
• Build model-ready, real-time datasets and feature stores for AI applications
• Partner with Data & Analytics and Platforms teams to enable intelligent decisioning, predictive analytics, and operational efficiency

4. Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Implement enterprise-grade governance and risk frameworks for on-rail and off-rail platforms
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and secure custody of digital assets
• Define auditability, transparency, and control frameworks for tokenized assets and smart contract execution

5. Delivery & Execution

• Lead global teams to incubate, prototype, and scale emerging technology solutions
• Ensure initiatives are delivered with high-quality engineering practices, SRE principles, and robust observability
• Align execution to enterprise standards, cross-functional dependencies, and strategic KPIs

6. Ecosystem & Industry Leadership

• Represent Citi Wealth in industry consortia, standards bodies, and innovation labs
• Forge strategic partnerships with fintechs, vendors, and blockchain networks
• Stay ahead of market trends, regulations, and technological innovations to inform enterprise strategy

Must-Have Qualifications

• 12+ years in financial services technology with leadership in digital assets, emerging tech, or innovation labs
• Proven record of leading enterprise-scale platform transformations bridging traditional and digital rails
• Deep expertise in:
  • Digital assets, tokenization, and programmable financial systems
  • Blockchain/DLT networks and smart contracts
  • AI/ML integration in investment workflows
  • Cloud-native, API-first, event-driven architectures
  • Enterprise data pipelines, analytics, and real-time decisioning
• Experience in cross-platform integration across custody, clearing, portfolio, and advisory systems
• Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and risk frameworks for digital asset operations
• Executive presence with ability to influence C-level stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Direct experience with DeFi, Web3, CBDCs, and instant settlement rails
• Knowledge of tokenized securities, programmable assets, and smart contract frameworks
• Prior engagement with fintech ecosystems and industry standards bodies
• Experience in AI-native platforms and predictive decisioning in investment operations
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

$176,720.00 - $265,080.00
