Working at Citi is far more than just a job. A career with us means joining a team of more than 230,000 dedicated people from around the globe. At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact.

Job Overview

Citi is looking for a Senior Credit Risk Officer at the Vice President level to join its Institutional Credit Management (ICM) team, a first-line-of-defence credit underwriting function that manages wholesale credit risk across Citi's institutional client base. In this role, you will lead credit analysis and underwriting for some of the most complex corporate banking relationships across the ASEAN region, shaping credit decisions that span Corporate Banking, Services, and Markets. Sitting within a high-impact team and reporting to a Senior Vice President, you will serve as the lead analyst and a key point of expertise for credit quality, policy, and underwriting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end credit underwriting for complex institutional relationships across the ASEAN region, from early origination discussions through to final credit approval documentation.
  • Author and deliver Credit Approval Memo packages to a high standard of accuracy and completeness, ensuring all relevant financial, structural, and risk considerations are clearly articulated.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, projection modelling, stress testing, and risk rating assessments to support well-grounded credit decisions.
  • Manage a portfolio of institutional client relationships through annual and quarterly reviews, as well as ad-hoc transaction and industry-level analysis.
  • Assess the allocation of risk assets and risk capital, providing balanced and well-reasoned views on risk-return trade-offs across client transactions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Banking, Risk, Regulators, Internal Audit, and control functions to ensure aligned and coordinated credit outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, acting as a senior point of reference for credit methodology, policy interpretation, and analytical quality.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 6 to 10 years of experience in credit risk, credit analysis, or wholesale credit underwriting within a financial institution or banking environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex financial statements, build projection models, and conduct credit stress testing across a range of industries and business models.
  • Solid knowledge of credit risk management standards, financing structures, and product structures relevant to institutional or corporate banking clients.
  • Ability to assess local market dynamics, regulatory environments, and competitive positioning to form holistic views of credit risk.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and well-argued credit memos and analysis for senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve differing viewpoints across multiple stakeholder groups, including banking, risk, and regulatory functions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

What We Offer

At Citi, you will work at the forefront of wholesale credit risk within a global institution, with direct exposure to complex institutional clients across the ASEAN region. This is a senior individual contributor role that carries real influence over credit decisions and offers the opportunity to shape the analytical standards of the team around you.

  • A high-visibility role handling the most complex credit transactions and accounts within local corporate banking, with direct impact on Citi's institutional credit framework.
  • The opportunity to operate as a lead analyst and subject-matter expert, mentoring junior team members and elevating the quality of credit analysis across the group.
  • Exposure to a broad range of industries, business models, and financing structures within a globally connected credit platform.
  • Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, supporting a sustainable and productive work rhythm.
  • Access to Citi's global learning and professional development resources, supporting continued growth in credit risk, financial analysis, and leadership.
  • Competitive compensation and financial benefits aligned to a senior Vice President-level position within a leading global bank.

Apply now to take ownership of complex credit decisions and play a defining role in Citi's institutional credit underwriting function across ASEAN.
