Job Overview

Citi is looking for an Applications Development Analyst to join its Banking Operations Technology team in Chennai, contributing to the design, development, and continuous improvement of Salesforce and ETL-based application systems. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to build and refine solutions that directly support banking operations and enhance how technology serves internal business functions. This is an opportunity to grow your technical foundation within a global financial institution that operates at real scale and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance application features by applying knowledge of development procedures, system concepts, and industry standards to identify and implement required improvements.
• Develop Salesforce and ETL solutions that address complex business and systems challenges within the Banking Operations environment.
• Analyze application issues, assess potential approaches, and implement well-reasoned solutions that align with system and business requirements.
• Write, test, and debug code to meet design specifications, using appropriate scripting tools and programming techniques.
• Evaluate information and apply judgement to recommend improvements that increase system effectiveness and operational reliability.
• Build working knowledge of Citi's application landscape, including client-server development, database administration, network operations, and enterprise systems.
• Support risk-aware development practices by identifying and escalating control issues and ensuring solutions meet applicable compliance and policy standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in application development, programming, or software debugging in a business context.
• Working knowledge of at least one programming language used in application or systems development.
• Familiarity with industry development standards and practices as applied to business application environments.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Salesforce development or administration within a banking or financial services environment.
• Exposure to ETL development, data pipeline design, or data integration processes.
• Familiarity with banking operations workflows and how technology solutions support operational delivery.
