Job Summary

The Client Manager is a pivotal role focused on delivering a best-in-class client experience through seamless execution onboarding and implementation, service coordination, credit management, and origination activities. This position acts as a central point of contact for clients and internal partners, ensuring operational efficiency and effective relationship support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing complex processes and developing strong client relationships.

The role will be responsible for both origination and delivery for China Mainland and Taiwan clients, as well as support UK&EU China Desk Head in driving China corridor strategy across EU.

The position will be based in Hungary, with a broader EU remit. Travel across EU will be required.

The Client Manager is a client facing banker responsible for a seamless execution on onboarding and implementation, service coordination and credit management within the Global Network Banking team. This position acts as a central point of contact for clients and internal partners, ensuring operational efficiency and effective relationship support.

Responsibilities:

1.Relationship, Execution  & Origination

  • Maintain professional and strategic relationships with key client representatives and decision-makers.
  • Independently manage and develop relationship across agreed portfolio of Mainland China and Taiwan clients.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen wallet share and expand Citi’s product penetration.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate client strategy and execution.
  • Support UK&EU China Desk Head in China Corridor strategy, portfolio development and cross border opportunities across EU.
  • Lead and mentor junior Client Managers in understanding client needs and identifying business opportunities.
  • Execute key strategic business campaigns, including comprehensive account planning, wallet sizing, and corridor or product initiatives.

2.Regional and Cross Border Coordination

  • Work across multiple EU jurisdiction to support China Mainland and Taiwan clients.
  • Coordinate regional opportunities that involve multiple entities and markets.
  • Work closely with local GNB team to ensure smooth client communication, consistent client coverage and execution.

3. Credit Management

  • Oversee and manage credit requests in close coordination with various internal teams, providing input and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Timely oversight and guidance on credit risk mitigation, monitoring credit lines, and escalating exceptions.

4. Onboarding & Implementation

  • Manage the end-to-end client onboarding experience for clients, from initiating CRM requests to post-implementation follow up.
  • Implement best practices for client documentation and facilitate comprehensive client training programs to ensure a seamless and efficient transition for clients.

5. Service Coordination

  • Act as a primary escalation point and trusted advisor for strategic clients, expertly managing and resolving client issues.
  • Facilitate operational efficiency and client satisfaction by optimizing day-to-day operational flows, analyzing client feedback, and implementing proactive solutions.

6. KYC Ownership

  • Oversee and ensure the integrity of KYC (Know Your Customer) processes for a portfolio of clients.
  • Take responsibility for completing, maintaining, and reviewing accurate client profiles, and mentor junior team members on KYC best practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in client management or a related role within the financial services industry.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced product knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of operational processes and in depth knowledge of KYC/AML regulatory requirements.
  • Commercial Capability: strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify client needs and develop new business opportunity.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple strategic priorities and complex stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to resolve complex, multi-faceted client issues, manage high stakes escalations, and drive process improvements through strategic solutions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to delivering a high level of client service and ability to develop and maintain robust, executive-level client relationships and influence key stakeholders
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy and unwavering attention to detail in all aspects of work, critical for managing high-value client portfolios
  • Language: Professional fluency in both Mandarin and English are required
  • Mobility : Travel across EU, a valid driver's license is preferred
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required
