Job Overview
The Director, Business Dev Sr Grp Mgr. manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.
Responsibilities:
In conjunction with Senior Management, and in alignment with our overarching Partnership strategy, the Director, Business Development, will set the strategic leadership and management of select Partnership Management and Support teams.
Establishes the strategy and directs execution in the management of existing partner relationships and support teams.
Manage internal and external processes as well as cross-functional constituents through critical business partnership processes.
Manage internal business teams to coordinate ongoing partner relationships and projects for existing portfolios.
Work with business teams to identify and develop strategic and tactical initiatives that provide a sustainable competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Coordinate internal processes for successful partner relationships.
Develop internal and external documents to support successful partner projects, initiatives, and tactics.
Identify and develop mutually beneficial relationships internally with senior leadership and other Citigroup businesses to enhance success in growing partner programs and execution on cross-functional initiatives.
Assist in integrating Citigroup product offerings as part of a robust financial solutions package as part of the new business and merger/acquisitions activity.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
15+ years relevant experience specifically in driving partner sales and driving processes that support partner initiatives such as NAC, Partner Domain, and other oversight functions.
Previous experience in partnership management and relationship building, oversight of projects, and understanding of Citi internal governance and oversight policies preferred
Track record of success with demonstrated skills in sales, credit, finance and customer relationship management
Experience in P&L management
Track record of leading large complex cross-functional teams
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Effective team player - ability to lead and partner with other areas (finance, risk, marketing, operations)
Strategic thinking skills
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred and managerial experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
