Discover your future at Citi

Working at Citi is far more than just a job. A career with us means joining a team of approximately 219,000 dedicated people from around the globe. At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact.

Job Overview

Citi is looking for a senior product leader to shape and grow its Balance Transfer business within the U.S. Credit Cards portfolio, sitting within the On Card Spend and Lend organization and reporting to the On Card Lend Business Head. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product strategy for Balance Transfers — a key feature of Citi's lending continuum that helps consumers manage their credit repayment — driving performance, innovation, and a best-in-class customer experience across Citi Branded Cards. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead meaningful product decisions that directly influence portfolio growth, profitability, and the financial lives of millions of customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Balance Transfer product strategy across Citi Branded Cards, translating strategic direction into clear roadmaps and prioritized initiatives that deliver measurable portfolio growth.
  • Define and enhance the Balance Transfer value proposition by building new capabilities and solutions in partnership with U.S. Branded Cards product and portfolio teams.
  • Partner with Technology and Digital teams to design and deliver a seamless, end-to-end Balance Transfer customer experience across digital and physical touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Risk, and Analytics teams to develop and deploy segmentation strategies, pricing models, and response optimization frameworks that improve profitability and customer take-up.
  • Analyze product financial performance — including loans, originations, portfolio yields, net credit margin, return on assets, and NPS — and recommend targeted actions to improve returns.
  • Identify and evaluate growth opportunities across Citi portfolios and external partnerships to expand and optimize Balance Transfer offers throughout the lending continuum.
  • Maintain and strengthen the governance and control environment for Balance Transfer as a lending product, ensuring alignment with Citi's risk appetite framework.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 or more years of experience in product management, financial services, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage unsecured lending products, with a track record of driving portfolio performance and profitability.
  • Experienced operating in complex, matrixed organizations, with the ability to align cross-functional teams — including Risk, Marketing, Technology, and Analytics — around shared goals.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret financial and performance data and translate insights into clear product recommendations.
  • Effective communicator and influencer, capable of building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and driving alignment across diverse teams.
  • Customer-first mindset, with a genuine understanding of consumer financial needs and a commitment to delivering experiences that add real value.
  • Results-oriented approach, with the discipline to execute on plans, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes within defined timelines.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • In-market experience working within the U.S. consumer lending or credit cards industry.
  • Background in credit risk, with familiarity of how risk frameworks intersect with product strategy and lending portfolio management.
