Team/Role Overview

The KYC Operations Senior Manager is a senior management-level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to provide Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, governance, oversight and regulatory reporting services in coordination with the Compliance and Control team. The overall objective of this role is to drive the development and management of a dedicated internal KYC (Know Your Client) program at Citi.

What you’ll do

  • Provide senior oversight of the Global Screening Operations team (GSO), senior point of escalation for the team and its stakeholders, represent the GSO function in senior management discussions and key stakeholder meeting across the business, compliance and operations and serve as central point of coordination for vendor strategy and third party interactions

  • Ensure effective governance of tasks and processes with reference to internal policy and external regulation

  • Manage and assess impact of operational implementation of technology and policy change and drives continuous improvements to quality of data and client service levels

  • Create efficiencies through on-going utilization of low cost centers for data management

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Ability to manage teams. 

  • Develop and manage the long-term plan for using new AI tools to meet company goals.

  • Find, test, and build new AI tools and systems to discover new opportunities for reducing manual work.

  • Oversee the most important AI projects, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and perform well.

  • Establish the standards and best practices for how AI tools are developed and used across the organization.

  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their AI skills.

  • Advise senior leadership on new AI opportunities, potential risks, and the competitive landscape.

  • Promote a culture of innovation and experimentation to drive technical excellence.

  • Work with Global GSO management team to coordinate remediation activities and approvals

  • Ensure proper and effective governance of remediation tasks and processes with reference to internal policy and external regulation

  • Partner with Compliance, the business and GSO teams globally on interpretation and implementation of new Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies

  • Develop project plans and ongoing monitoring of milestones and actions

What we’ll need from you

  • 6-10 years of job related work experience.

  • Project Management: Proven experience in project management, with a demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects successfully within scope and timeline.

  • People Leadership: Strong people management experience, with a track record of leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

  • Advanced English – both written and spoken (daily duties and company communication are conducted in English).

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

  • Master's degree preferred.
