Job Overview
The Engineer Sr Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and development of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned frameworks.
Responsibilities:
Define budgetary requirements, develop functional specifications, and create project plans and software release schedules for the assigned product area.
Partner with business, development, and other technology teams to define system requirements, manage engineering relationships, and ensure clear communication with all stakeholders.
Serve as a technical expert on project teams, providing in-depth engineering knowledge, technical direction, and mentorship to junior team members.
Manage and improve the stability of MS SQL environments, including providing production and COB support, identifying tuning opportunities, and performing necessary installations, patching, and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with audit initiatives and security requirements by assessing risk in business decisions and working with security officers to implement necessary controls and patches.
Provide expert analysis and resolution for complex system problems, drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and recommend system improvements and optimizations.
Collaborate effectively with architecture, development, QA, and PMO teams, and manage trouble/request queues to ensure timely resolution and system health.
Act as a key point of contact for clients and end-users, understanding their needs, developing beneficial relationships, and providing solutions while adhering to IT policies and offering 24/7 on-call support.
Qualifications:
Possesses 5-8 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role, preferably within Financial Services or a large, complex global environment.
Demonstrates project management experience and a proven track record of operational process change and improvement.
Exhibits consistently clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Has comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, and benchmarking to identify best practices.
Shows strong analytic and diagnostic skills for problem-solving and evaluation.
Capable of working effectively in a matrix environment, partnering with virtual teams.
Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of projects or initiatives.
Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and adapt to unexpected changes.
