Assistant Vice President, Applications Development Sr Programmer Analyst

Finance & Functions Technology is responsible for providing Tech solutions and services to Finance, Compliance and HR organizations across Citi Japan legal vehicles. 

This position is application development role to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team and Compliance partners. The overall objective of this role is to lead local application analysis and development activities.

In this role, you’re expected to:

• Work with Compliance and Global/Japan technology to understand Japan regulatory requirements and deliver solutions. 
• Manage Japan application, projects and budget for application development including documentations to follow Citi standard development processes in a timely manner.
• Perform all phases of development activities including business analysis, architecture/application design, coding, testing, source code management and implementation as well as provide support to business users.
• Fully collaborate with offshore development team to implement business requirements and deliver projects on time.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
• Analyze and get familiar with existing system data flow and processes for AML function to collaborate with Global AML Tech.
• Fully collaborate with Compliance/AML partners and Japan/global technology units to assess impact of upstream system changes/projects etc.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Take ownership of own space and work for continuous improvement.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• 8+ years of experience on Java & Web application development.
• Business level English and Japanese language proficiency.
• Experience and knowledge on system analysis, system architecture and programming using modern technologies.
• Good understanding of SDLC - Walter fall, Iteration and Agile.
• Hands on experience on Oracle, SQL, Unix/Linux, Web Apps, Java, Shell etc.
• Great ability to analyze business requirement, manage projects and work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in implementing successful application development projects.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.
• Good understanding of Risk and Controls.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks under pressure.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
