Job Overview
The Team:
Citigroup Global Markets Inc. (CGMI) is a multifaceted legal entity within Citigroup Inc, registered with the SEC as a Broker-Dealer and Investment Advisor, subject to FINRA oversight. It also functions as a Swap Dealer and Futures Commission Merchant under the Commodities Futures & Trading Commission (CFTC). CGMI engages in a broad range of businesses, including equity sales and trading, spread and interest rate products, prime brokerage, debt and equity capital markets products, as well as mergers and acquisitions advisory services. Additionally, it provides personal wealth management, retail brokerage, and investment products.
The CGMI Chief Risk Officer ("CRO") Office is part of the CBNA CRO Organization and is responsible for risk oversight of CGMI. The team is responsible for the risk oversight of the entity including governance, portfolio analytics, risk frameworks, as well as risk regulatory management. In addition to managing CGMI we manage the Office of the Swap Dealer CROs which is charged with central management and setting of a consistent governance approach to the risk management of our CFTC registered Swap Dealers and SEC registered Securities-Based Swap Dealers.
About the Role:
Join our dynamic Legal Entity Risk Management team as a Vice President, where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our US Broker-Dealer (CGMI/CGMHI) and its critical activities as a CFTC Swap Dealer and Futures Commission Merchant (FCM). This role is focused on proactive legal entity risk management, offering a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a broad, cross-functional context within a leading global financial institution.
You will be instrumental in understanding and translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable risk management practices across various disciplines, including market, credit, operational, and liquidity risk. This position is ideal for an intellectually curious and forward-thinking risk professional eager to explore the diverse responsibilities of a Chief Risk Officer and shape the future of risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a primary expert on counterparty credit risk, particularly its impact on US broker-dealers, incorporating macroeconomic dynamics to understand and predict risk profiles.
Risk Analysis & Mitigation: Conduct in-depth analysis of risk exposures, proactively investigate variances, and effectively escalate issues to senior management.
Strategic Risk Management: Lead and coordinate the agenda for the regular Second Line-led Risk Forum, fostering a collaborative approach to risk identification and mitigation.
Control Enhancement: Drive the enhancement of controls and assessments within the Manager’s Control Assessment framework.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with risk analysts and managers across various teams, both within Risk and key businesses to develop a comprehensive view of the entity’s risk profile.
Holistic Risk Perspective: Develop proficiency in understanding diverse risk disciplines to identify and manage thematic risks across the legal entity.
AI-Driven Risk Insights: Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance risk management insights, improve predictive analytics, and boost productivity within your scope of responsibilities.
Emerging Risk Identification: Proactively identify current and emerging risks impacting the entity, considering evolving risk profiles and macroeconomic conditions, especially during periods of market uncertainty.

Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry, with a strong preference for roles in risk management (e.g., counterparty credit risk, market risk).
Capital Markets Expertise: Solid understanding of capital markets products, risk concepts, and key risk metrics. Familiarity with the legal entity space is a significant advantage.
Analytical Prowess: Exceptional analytical capabilities to manipulate and interpret complex data, translating insights into clear and concise presentations for diverse audiences, including senior management and governance committees.
Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Tableau. Familiarity with Citi's internal risk systems is a plus.
Educational Background: Undergraduate or Master’s degree(s) with an analytical focus (e.g., Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Data Science).
