Job Overview
Job Specification: Vice President, Technology (QA Lead — Automation & Quality Engineering)
Hands-on QA leader for enterprise applications with deep Selenium automation, strong manual testing discipline, UI/API/performance testing expertise, and multi-stack experience across .NET and Java.
Position Summary
The Vice President, Technology (QA Lead) will define and drive the quality engineering strategy and execution for mission-critical enterprise platforms. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical depth in test automation using Selenium, comprehensive manual testing capabilities, and proven experience validating both UI and API layers. The successful candidate will establish modern QA practices, partner closely with engineering and product teams, and ensure high confidence releases through measurable quality outcomes. CRM functional knowledge is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality strategy & governance: Define QA strategy, test standards, release readiness criteria, and quality metrics; ensure consistent adoption across teams.
- Selenium automation leadership: Design, build, and maintain scalable Selenium-based automation frameworks; improve coverage for regression, smoke, and critical user journeys.
- Manual testing excellence: Lead and execute exploratory, functional, integration, UAT support, and end-to-end testing; develop detailed test plans, scenarios, and traceability.
- UI and API testing: Validate web UI behavior and backend services (REST/JSON, etc.), including contract validation, error handling, and negative testing; ensure testability and observability with engineering partners.
- Performance testing: Plan and execute load, stress, and endurance testing; analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and partner with engineering on remediation and re-testing.
- Multi-stack validation: Test applications and services across both .NET and Java ecosystems, aligning approaches to shared quality standards.
- CI/CD integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines; manage test environments, data needs, and execution reliability to support frequent releases.
- Defect management & RCA: Drive high-quality defect triage, prioritization, and root-cause analysis; implement preventive measures to reduce repeat issues.
- Stakeholder partnering: Collaborate with product owners, engineering leads, and business stakeholders to align on acceptance criteria, scope, and risk-based testing decisions.
- Coaching & leadership: Mentor QA engineers and influence cross-functional teams on quality best practices (shift-left testing, automation-first where appropriate, and continuous improvement).
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of QA/Quality Engineering experience, including ownership of test strategy and delivery for enterprise applications.
- Strong, hands-on experience with Selenium (automation design, framework patterns, and maintenance) and complementary manual testing expertise.
- Proven experience in UI testing for modern web applications and API testing for service-based architectures.
- Hands-on experience executing performance testing and translating findings into actionable engineering improvements.
- Experience testing systems built on .NET and Java technology stacks.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, defect lifecycle, test estimation, test data management, and environment coordination.
- Excellent analytical and debugging skills with the ability to isolate issues across UI, API, data, and infrastructure layers.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to present risk, quality status, and release readiness to senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- CRM functional knowledge (sales/service workflows, customer onboarding, case management, activities/interactions) and experience validating CRM-centric business processes.
- Experience with modern API and UI test tooling beyond Selenium (e.g., Postman, REST-assured, Playwright/Cypress) and test reporting frameworks.
- Experience building QA dashboards and metrics (coverage, pass rates, defect leakage, flakiness, MTTR) to drive continuous improvement.
- Experience with test environment provisioning and/or containerized test execution.
