Job Overview

Citi is looking for a Deputy Operations Manager to play a pivotal role within its Global Security and Intelligence Center (GSIC) in Tampa, helping protect the firm's people, assets, and clients across North America, Mexico, and Latin America. Sitting within Citi's Security and Investigative Services function — a team dedicated to crisis management, intelligence, investigations, executive protection, and security operations — this role is central to the delivery of around-the-clock physical security monitoring, threat response, and incident management. If you have a background in security operations, command center leadership, or law enforcement, this is an opportunity to make a real and measurable impact at a global financial institution.

CSIS has three main GSICs located in Tampa, London, and Singapore. All CSIS GSICs are responsible for the execution of four core programs, including:

  • 1.    CCTV/Alarm Monitoring and Response – provide comprehensive physical security monitoring for threats to the firm’s assets, employees, and customers. GSICs monitor the access control system, intrusion detection and panic alarm systems for threats and use the systems and CCTV systems to initiate and coordinate a security response to security and safety incidents or crisis events.
  • 2.    Threat Monitoring – execute disruptive, targeted and executive threat monitoring plans following the CSIS Intelligence Threat Monitoring Procedures. GSICs also engage and leverage the CSIS Strategic Intelligence team to enhance situational awareness of threats to Citi facilities and people, as well as context when dealing with disruptive events or crises.
  • 3.    Workplace Violence Monitoring and Response – GSICs execute the CSIS verbal threats and workplace violence programs and serve as the primary intake utility for reporting of security threats and incidents by Citi employees, contractors and other stakeholders. GSICs record all incidents managed and produce ongoing and final reports on significant incidents.
  • 4.    Traveler Assistance and Safety – GSICs execute the CSIS Traveler assistance program. This includes implementing travel risk management procedures to restricted destinations with guidance from the relevant security manager or Security Head of Cluster. This also includes monitoring travel to high-risk destinations and provide support and to account for travelers in the event of a disruptive safety events.

The GSIC Deputy Operations Manager will support a critical program related to alarm/CCTV monitoring throughout the North America, Mexico and Latin America area of responsibility.  GSICs also provide Incident Response support to security managers and the CSIS Crisis Management Team. 

This GSIC Operations Deputy Manager role will be based in Tampa and report directly to the GSIC Operations Manager.  

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day operations of the Global Security and Intelligence Center, including CCTV and alarm monitoring, intrusion detection response, and escalation procedures across the North America, Mexico, and Latin America region.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary security operations team, ensuring consistent execution of monitoring and response procedures, training standards, and professional conduct.
  • Deliver timely escalation and coordination across security, crisis management, intelligence, and investigations teams to ensure a cohesive and effective response to security incidents.
  • Oversee key performance indicators for the security center, tracking operational productivity and risk management outcomes in line with security policy and governance standards.
  • Coordinate training programs and establish appropriate oversight structures for a distributed, 24/7 security operations function.
  • Develop governance frameworks and operational guidance for engagement with law enforcement and government agencies across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support vendor sourcing, manage GSIC vendor relationships, and monitor vendor performance and training against agreed KPIs.
  • Contribute to technology and systems planning by identifying business requirements that enable effective security monitoring and response capabilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5 or more years of security operations experience, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • Hands-on experience working in or managing a security operations center, with direct involvement in CCTV monitoring, intrusion detection response, escalation, and incident reporting.
  • Familiarity with banking security regulations and compliance standards, including the Bank Protection Act and Title 12 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Background in corporate security or critical infrastructure protection, with knowledge of physical security and geopolitical risks in a global operating environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with law enforcement and intelligence agencies across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Clear and effective communicator with the ability to brief senior leadership, government partners, and cross-functional stakeholders on security matters.
  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, International Relations, or a related field.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience managing a security command center, including real-time threat monitoring, incident response, and threat management operations.
  • Proficiency with physical security technologies, including access control systems, CCTV surveillance platforms, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Crisis response experience, with a track record of coordinating cross-functional teams to contain and resolve security incidents effectively.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, enabling effective engagement across the Latin America area of responsibility.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline, or military, law enforcement, or physical security operations center experience in a protective security or counter-threat context.

$87,280.00 - $130,920.00
