Global Product Manager for Custody Digital Onboarding
The Custody Product Manager is a strategic position responsible for driving the core Custody product function. With a critical focus on digital transformation and data-driven insights, the role integrates traditional and innovative solutions across the Custody product lifecycle, aiming for competitive advantage and commercial outcomes. This role champions key product priorities, including digital onboarding strategy, AI-powered solutions, financial performance, innovation, controls & governance, and talent development. Collaboration with Coverage teams, Products across Investor Services teams, Operations, and Technology is essential to jointly achieve shared business goals.
Focusing on digitization of the client onboarding experience through various intake channels, industry utilities and integration with internal applications. Significant improvement to end to end client experience, delivering simplicity and increase client satisfaction through reduction of account opening cycle times, market documentation and requirements and improvement operational efficiency. The individual will work closely with business, legal, risk and operational partners identifying and implementing product change and enhancements in line with business, efficiency, regulatory and market mandatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage strategic program roadmap, development, and launch as it relates to digital onboarding solutions
- Supervise day-to-day product management for core products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies as well as help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results
- Drive client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients
- Develop plans and execute functional strategies for a country, multiple countries, region, or business requiring coordination and integration across units as well as provide input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business
- Manage client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and address fundamental trials of product commoditization to create an advanced set of solutions
- Direct and oversee all aspects of program life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, and the competitive field
- Drive achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals as well as oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps business plans
- Develop and communicate a business plan to approach the marketplace, and coordinate and implement team procedures, client problem resolutions and client management
- Lead innovation by working with external partners/alliances to develop products, manage ongoing relationships, and prepare agreements
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Product Vision & P&L Ownership: Define and lead the strategic vision for custody products, aggressively integrating digital, data, and innovation to drive P&L growth, market penetration, and sustainable competitive advantage.
- Digital & Data-Driven Innovation: Champion product differentiation and service enhancement by actively leveraging advanced data analytics, digital capabilities, and emerging technologies throughout the product lifecycle.
- Global Execution Excellence: Execute global strategic priorities and functional strategies for custody within the assigned market/ cluster, ensuring seamless integration of global platforms, digital initiatives and operational enhancements and Cluster priorities into Global product roadmaps.
- Client Experience & Value Delivery: Oversee the delivery of superior client experience and communication strategies, executing compelling client value propositions to secure and solidify Citi's leadership position Custody.
- Market Change Management & Influence: Lead market change initiatives through proactive advocacy, direct regulatory engagement, and by effectively representing the firm's and client's voice to Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs) and Regulators
- Risk Management: Proactively assess and manage product-related risks, safeguarding Citi's reputation and assets.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Extensive Product Leadership: 15 years of progressive product management experience in custody in complex, global, and matrixed organizations, fostering an techno- commercial approach to strategic decision-making and product development.
- Digital & Data Expertise with an AI-First Mindset in Financial Services: Deep knowledge and practical experience integrating digital, data analytics, and emerging technologies (including AI/ML concepts and platforms), with a proactive AI-first mindset to identify and apply solutions within custody operations and client experience.
- Industry & Market Acumen: Sound understanding of the custody industry and investment products. Acute insights into competitor offerings, strategic market direction across fintech, data management, and digital innovation.
- Strategic & Commercial Acuity: Demonstrated ability to drive commercial outcomes through forward-looking product innovation roadmaps, executing client value propositions across positioning, segmentation, pricing, and digital delivery channels.
- Innovative & AI-Centric Collaborative Mindset: A highly proactive and innovative mindset, fostering an AI-first, collaborative culture. Outstanding people leadership skills are essential to motivate, influence, and guide teams towards AI-driven technological advancements and business realities.
- Risk & Compliance Ownership: Adept at assessing and managing product-related risks, ensuring compliance, and safeguarding the firm's reputation, clients, and assets.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
