Job Overview

Citi is looking for an experienced Vice President, Securities & Derivatives Senior Manager to lead a specialist team within its Custody Operations division, driving the seamless settlement and post-settlement processing of securities and derivatives transactions. In this senior leadership role, you will own daily operational performance, shape process improvements, and serve as a key point of escalation and expertise across a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the quality and efficiency of Citi's custody operations at a global scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for securities and derivatives post-settlement activities, ensuring consistent delivery standards and service quality across the team.
• Develop and implement business initiatives, client solutions, and operational projects aligned to securities and derivatives settlement objectives.
• Manage escalated inquiries and complex client requests, conducting thorough discovery and due diligence to identify root causes and recommend clear resolution actions.
• Design and deliver process improvements across settlement workflows, client service models, and technology enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
• Establish and maintain processing standards, policies, and procedures that support cost-effective and compliant operations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external clients to evaluate service quality, identify gaps, and implement targeted improvements.
• Assess risk in operational decision-making, ensuring activities comply with applicable regulations, firm policies, and control standards, and escalate issues with transparency where required.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, building capability and accountability within the sub-team.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 6 to 10 years of experience in securities and derivatives operations, custody, or a related financial services function.
• Must successfully complete the Proficiency Test for Trust Operations Personnel as a condition of this role.
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams in an operational environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats, including when presenting to senior stakeholders or clients.
• Track record of identifying settlement process inefficiencies and delivering measurable improvements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Business, or Economics.
• Experience working across custody functions including cash management, FX, account opening, or client services within a local or global custody model.
• Familiarity with technology-driven operations improvements and tools used in post-trade settlement environments.
