Job Overview

Join Citi's Operations – Transaction Services team as a Securities & Derivatives Analyst, playing a key role in the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions across trading desks and branch offices. This is an intermediate-level position where you will coordinate trade processing, resolve settlement issues, and contribute to the delivery of accurate, compliant, and efficient transaction operations. Your work will directly support the integrity of Citi's trading operations and the quality of service delivered to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Process securities and derivatives transactions end-to-end, delivering accurate and timely clearance and settlement in line with operational standards.
  • Identify and resolve securities and derivative settlement issues, escalating complex cases to the appropriate teams and collaborating on effective solutions.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external client inquiries, providing timely and accurate resolutions to pre- and post-trade issues.
  • Prepare and submit mandatory regulatory and exchange reports, including Day Trading and Omnibus allocation reporting, ensuring full compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Design and analyze moderately complex operational reports to meet management requirements, support control activities, and inform decision-making.
  • Monitor transaction processing for errors and apply procedural knowledge to recommend and implement risk-reducing solutions.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients and the launch of new products and services, acting as an analytical and procedural resource for the securities processing team.
  • Ensure all processes adhere to audit, control, and regulatory policies, and escalate control issues with transparency when identified.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Hold a valid Certified (Senior) Securities Specialist license in Taiwan — this is a mandatory requirement for this position.
  • Foundational knowledge of Treasury products, accounting principles, and regulatory policies relevant to securities processing.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in both Mandarin and English.
  • Working knowledge of macros to support reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability, with the ability to evaluate securities processing procedures and industry standards accurately.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Three to six years of experience in a trade support, middle office, or securities operations role within financial services.
  • Familiarity with Taiwan exchange reporting requirements, including Day Trading and Omnibus allocation processes.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement initiatives or the development of new operational techniques within a securities processing environment.

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Client Services:

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external client inquiries via email and phone, providing timely and accurate resolutions with regards to pre/post trade issues and enquiries.

  • Trade Lifecycle Management:

    • Resolve complex process problems in global and local systems which require an in-depth evaluation of basic securities processing procedures and industry standards.

    • Process pre trade/trade capture, allocations, confirmations/affiliations, FOBO/P&L reconciliation, and client service.

  • System & Data Integrity:

    • Oversee the set-up of new client, while representing a securities processing team, and acting as the analytical and procedural expert.

    • Serve as analytical or procedural expert for securities processing deliverables/initiatives.

    • Assist with the development of new techniques and streamlining trade processing activities.

  • Regulatory & Exchange Reporting:

    • Prepare and submit mandatory reporting to the exchange, including Day Trading and Omnibus allocation, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.

    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • Obtained the license of Certified (Senior) Securities Specialist in Taiwan a mandatory requirement for this position.

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience is preferred; or proven experience in a trade support, middle office, operations role within the financial services industry.

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.

  • Familiarity with Taiwan exchange reporting requirements is highly desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.

  • Team player. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
