Job Overview
This is a senior risk governance opportunity at Citi where you will serve as the primary point of contact between the Singapore Chief Risk Officer's office and regulators, governance committees, and global risk teams — shaping how risk is managed, escalated, and reported across one of the world's leading financial institutions. In this role, you will oversee the full spectrum of regulatory and governance activity in Singapore, ensuring that risk issues are identified, escalated, and resolved through the appropriate channels at country, cluster, and global levels. Your work will directly influence the risk posture of Citi Singapore and will be visible to the most senior levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate risk governance committees and oversee the timely execution of regulatory and Board deliverables, ensuring all follow-up actions are tracked and completed.
- Represent the Singapore Chief Risk Officer's office in meetings with local regulators, managing regulatory audits, surveys, stress tests, and formal presentations on behalf of Risk Management.
- Review and assess risk-related regulatory reports for completeness, consistency, and accuracy, including contributions to reports such as IFRS 9.
- Monitor emerging and revised regulations issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and other relevant regulators, leading their timely implementation across all business and product groups.
- Oversee the Risk Appetite framework in Singapore, including the implementation of local metrics and ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Monitor and drive the resolution of audit findings and regulatory corrective action plans, ensuring accountability and timeliness across all teams in Singapore.
- Manage risk and control assessment reporting, including regular updates to senior management, to ensure the process remains clearly defined and consistently effective.
- Escalate significant risk issues or control breaches that could materially affect Citi Singapore's risk profile, and prepare senior-level presentations and documentation for regulatory and strategic purposes .
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree, MBA, CPA, or CFA qualification.
- Six to ten years of risk management experience gained within a global financial services organization.
- In-depth knowledge of risk policies, regulatory frameworks including those set by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and banking products and services.
- Track record of coordinating regulatory reviews, responding to regulatory requests, and managing multi-stakeholder governance processes across in-country, regional, and global teams.
- Ability to analyse complex information from multiple sources and translate findings into clear, accurate reports and presentations for senior audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present risk issues concisely to senior management and regulators.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple concurrent programme under tight regulatory timelines, maintaining quality and accuracy under pressure.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Experience overseeing stress testing exercises, deep-dive reviews, or country-level crisis management processes.
- Ability to navigate complex organisational structures and build effective working relationships across functional and business teams without direct authority.
- Confidence in voicing and defending independent views when engaging with senior management, auditors, and external regulators.
