Job Overview
The Citigold Client Advisor is a strategic partner for affluent and emerging High-Net-Worth Non-Resident Indian (NRI) individuals, delivering comprehensive wealth management guidance and tailored financial solutions. Serving as a trusted advisor, the Citigold Client Advisor proactively anticipates client needs, crafting personalized strategies that encompass investment management, cross-border financial planning, and seamless banking services.
This client-centric approach empowers NRI clients to achieve their financial aspirations while contributing to the growth of the Citi Wealth franchise. The Advisor builds deep, long-term relationships, acting as the central point of contact and collaborating with internal specialists to provide holistic client experience.
This role emphasizes wealth accumulation, preservation, and international portfolio diversification, recognizing the unique financial journeys of affluent NRI clients. The Citigold Client Advisor is expected to possess a strong commercial mindset and consistently seek opportunities to enhance client experience.
Responsibilities
Strategic Wealth Management
- Formulate and execute tailored financial plans encompassing investment management, savings strategies, retirement planning, insurance, and risk management.
- Guide clients on international investment solutions, portfolio diversification, and multi-currency banking.
Relationship Management
- Cultivate and manage an assigned portfolio of affluent NRI clients, acting as their primary relationship contact for wealth advisory and banking services.
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, provide market updates, and ensure prompt resolution of client queries.
Business Development
- Proactively acquire new NRI clients through referrals, market outreach, diaspora networks, and digital leads to grow portfolio assets and customer franchise.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across investments, foreign exchange, lending, and deposit products.
Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with internal product partners (e.g., Investment Specialists, FX Specialists, Treasury Advisors) to deliver tailored product solutions to clients.
Market Analysis
- Monitor financial market trends, currency movements, and relevant economic updates to provide clients with timely and relevant advisory.
Client Events
- Support and participate in client seminars, product presentations, and relationship-building initiatives tailored to the NRI segment.
Compliance, Risk & Controls
- Ensure complete adherence to KYC/AML regulations, cross-border policies, documentation standards, and local supervisory requirements.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 4 to 7 (or more) years of experience in wealth management, retail banking relationship management, or financial advisory, with exposure to affluent and HNW client segments.
- Experience in or demonstrated affinity for the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) market, with an understanding of client acquisition techniques within the NRI diaspora community.
- Good understanding of the cultural nuances, cross-border financial preferences, and wealth planning needs of NRI clients.
- Fluency in English is required. Working proficiency in Hindi and/or other regional Indian languages (e.g., Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali) is advantageous.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding business targets in client acquisition and AUM growth.
- Solid grounding in financial markets, investment products (mutual funds, fixed income, equities, structured notes), and FX solutions.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation while contributing positively to team goals.
- Mandatory regulatory licenses and certifications required for financial product sales and advisory in the jurisdiction.
Education
Bachelor's/University degree required.
