Job Overview

This position resides within the Citi Risk Management department, responsible for a $10B+ Retail Credit Card Portfolio.  As part of the Citi Retail Services Risk Management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing and executing ideas and initiatives designed to achieve business growth and loss mitigation goals. This responsibility involves driving credit risk initiatives as part of Existing Customer Risk Management. This role requires an individual with several years of credit risk management experience, strong statistical and data analysis skills, SAS skills, and the ability to derive rigorous segmentation results based on business knowledge and objective judgment of the balance between risk and reward for the portfolio. This position will have high cross-functional and partner interactions and requires strong interpersonal skills.


Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing, analyzing and executing ideas and initiatives designed to achieve business growth and loss mitigation goals. This responsibility involves driving credit risk initiatives in Best Buy's Existing Customer risk management with high cross-functional and partner interactions, requiring strong interpersonal skills.

  • Understand applicable credit policies, industry regulations and the requisite impact of those governance items on initiatives

  • Develop recommendations to adjust credit policies by analyzing credit and financial performance utilizing statistical scoring, segmentation, regression and simulation techniques

  • Ability to leverage credit risk data experience and business acumen to observe key trends / threats / inaccuracies and drivers of those observations

  • Utilize Statistical Analysis System (SAS) in a UNIX environment to perform risk, financial and data analyses including profiling, sampling, forecasting and new program due diligence

  • Establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships and network with key internal and external constituencies

  • Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on expected portfolio performance and areas of potential risk and/or opportunity

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in credit card risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry

  • Proven ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and prioritize

  • Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills

  • Proven skills to manage effectively across cross functional areas in a matrix-organization

  • Extensive knowledge of SAS programming including macro and SQL and knowledge of Knowledge Studio

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree in Quantitative Fields such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Finance or Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Master's degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$114,720.00 - $172,080.00
