Job Overview

This role is Applications Development Group Manager to lead development teams focused on Investor Services - Custody solutions within financial Services. This critical role demands a deep understanding of Java-based application development, cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, web portal development, and a forward-looking perspective on leveraging Generative AI. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure applications in the financial services domain.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor High-Performing Teams: Oversee and guide multiple teams of Java developers, Web frontend, DevOps and database specialists. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, conducting performance reviews, driving skill development, and managing team dynamics.
  • Define and Drive Technical Strategy: Establish a clear technical vision and roadmap for application development, incorporating cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, containerization, and exploring the potential of GenAI for code generation, testing, and other development tasks. Champion and implement best practices for software development, CI/CD, and cloud-native deployments.
  • Oversee Project Execution and Delivery: Manage the full lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Prepare and present comprehensive project reviews to senior management, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and Optimize Kubernetes Infrastructure: Oversee the operation and maintenance of a robust and scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain a strong focus on regulatory compliance within the Financial Services Custody domain. Assess and mitigate risks related to application development and deployment, ensuring adherence to Citi's policies and procedures. Promote a culture of ethical conduct and transparency.
  • Access Risk and steer decisions: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting
  • Collaborate and Communicate Effectively: Foster strong communication and collaboration within the team, across different departments, and with business stakeholders. Lead local staff forums, disseminating relevant news and updates. Work closely with business leaders to understand their needs and ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
  • Drive Innovation with GenAI: Explore and evaluate the potential of Generative AI to enhance the software development lifecycle, including code generation, automated testing, and other innovative applications.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development within Financial Services
  • Deep expertise in Java development, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA and related frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, Oracle database development, and cloud platforms.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing web portals using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Familiarity with GenAI concepts and potential applications in software development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
