Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead (C13 level) to design, build, and maintain high-volume data and trade reporting applications in the Capital Markets regulatory space. You will lead technical design, write clean code, tune query performance, and guide junior developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Coding: Build and enhance scalable, robust backend services using Core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices for regulatory transaction reporting.
  • Data Integration & Mapping: Ingest, parse, and process high-volume trade data from upstream trading systems using JSON, XML/FpML, and REST APIs.
  • Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries, Oracle databases, and Hive/Big Data pipelines to meet strict regulatory SLAs.
  • Data Quality & Reconciliation: Develop automated data reconciliation, validation checks, and error-handling routines.
  • AI & Modernization: Leverage AI/GenAI tools (prompt engineering, RAG, automated workflows) to streamline data mapping and analysis.
  • Team Leadership: Conduct code reviews, set coding and testing standards, mentor junior/mid-level engineers, and allocate tasks.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Partner with business analysts, architecture, and compliance teams to translate regulatory rules into technical specifications.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10–14+ years of hands-on experience in Java software development and data platforms.
  • Strong Core Java & Spring Boot: Multithreading, collections, concurrency, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
  • Advanced SQL & Database Tuning: Deep experience with Oracle and Hive; strong ability to read execution plans and tune slow queries.
  • Data Formats: Hands-on experience parsing and transforming JSON, XML, and complex nested data structures.
  • Data Quality & ETL: Experience with data mapping, warehousing concepts, ETL pipelines, and reconciliation frameworks.
  • Tooling: GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Tekton).
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Good to Have / Preferred

  • Direct experience with Capital Markets regulatory reporting regimes (e.g., MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, CFTC Re-write).
  • Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka / MQ).
  • Working knowledge or interest in AI/GenAI (LLMs, RAG, Prompt Engineering).
  • Exposure to Python, Snowflake, Databricks, or Cloud platforms.
