Job Overview

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and guidance to a team of developers working on the Agency Lending strategic platform. This includes architectural design, technology selection, and code reviews. Champion and enforce Citi's Engineering Excellence principles and coding standards.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to the platform's development and enhancement. Manage project timelines, resources, and risks, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Collaborate with project managers and business stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.
• Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of developers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members. Manage team workload and assignments.
• Development: Contribute to the hands-on development of critical platform components using Java, Java EE, Spring, Springboot, Hibernate, and microservices architecture (Lightspeed, Docker, Kubernetes). Develop and optimize PL/SQL queries and stored procedures for interacting with Oracle databases.
• Technical Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of the platform's architecture and underlying technologies. Provide technical expertise and support to the team and other stakeholders. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies, particularly in the areas of securities finance and lending.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, working effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones. Proactively identify and address technical debt and performance bottlenecks.
• Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, project managers, and other technical teams. Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform's development processes, including CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior developers, helping them develop their technical skills and grow within the organization.
• Business Support: Provide technical support to business users and stakeholders, addressing their needs and resolving issues related to the platform.

• Languages/Frameworks:  Core Java, Java EE, PL/SQL, Microservices(lightspeed, docker, Kubernetes), Spring, Springboot, Hibernate, Unix scripting, Team City, Udeploy, Autosys
• RDBMS: Oracle
• OS: Red Hat Linux
• Message Middleware: IBM MQ, Kafka
• Tools: IntelliJ

Business Knowledge

• Knowledge of Securities Finance a plus
• Securities master and market data
• Financial Markets, Trading, Middle Office and Back Office functions
• Organizational
• Team oriented individual, ability to work in complex environment.
• Able to support business issues on need basis in distributed teams across multiple time zones

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
• Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred
