Job Overview

This is a developing professional role which integrates in-depth specialty knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices; demonstrates good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and drive action to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations of the issues, interfacing with all external and internal partner organizations (Compliance, Legal, Marketing, CoreLogic etc.). Provide feedback to the client within specific case-type timeliness standards.
  • Identify key problem areas that may affect larger segments of the client base and engage appropriate groups to eliminate those problems.
  • Ensure BAU policies and procedures meet regulatory and business obligations.
  • Utilize MIS to monitor exceptions; and where necessary perform root cause analysis.
  • Test confirmations and prospectus delivery processes and controls.
  • Resolve complex issues, while valuing the client and using prudent business judgment.
  • Identify issues, oversee remediation efforts, and escalate fails to Middle Office, Compliance, Technology
  • Apply working knowledge of technical and professional principles and concepts and in-depth knowledge of team objectives; and impacts the business by ensuring the quality of the tasks or services provided.
  • Understand how assigned duties contribute to the work of the team/unit and how the units coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve the objectives of the function.
  • Within established procedures, make decisions without manager approval. Work under little to no direct supervision. May support an expansive and/or diverse array of products/services.
  • Act as subject matter expert and perform business analysis development of related control frameworks.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years related experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working directly with customers, preferably in an escalated queue.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (clear and concise). Self-motivated, self-directed and self-managed.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge.
  • Subject Matter Expert in businesses supported.
  • Individual Contributor
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to senior levels of management and/or stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Excellent time and case management skills.
  • Must possess excellent listening skills.
  • Willingness to ask questions, challenge the status quo and seek out answers.
  • Ability to clearly articulate findings in a large group setting in person, in writing, and via telephone conference calls.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various analyses or reviews.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Night Shift/ US Shift

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Works closely with our internal Legal team, Agency/Attorney Managers, Compliance, and auditors to remediate findings on third party vendor action plans.
  • Will work to resolve/remediate Service Providers audit action plans with intended outcome to minimize future repeat findings, ensure findings are resolved timely, and reduce risk to Citi and the Service Provider
