Job Overview
This senior leadership role is accountable for leading the strategic direction, design, and delivery of advanced technology solutions within the credit risk domain. The manager will drive transformational initiatives, lead and mentor a team of technologists, and ensure the seamless integration of policies and decisioning logic across technology platforms. This position requires a leader who can bridge strategic vision with technical execution, ensuring all efforts align with organizational frameworks and regulatory mandates.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Technology Leadership:
• Lead the development and execution of technology strategies that align with organizational goals and risk management frameworks.
• Drive the integration of advanced decisioning capabilities and policies into core technology platforms.
• Define the long-term vision for technology evolution, incorporating emerging trends and risk mitigation strategies.
Technology Program Delivery & Oversight:
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Guide the design, development, testing, and deployment of strategic enhancements, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Foster strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, including IT, product, and risk management, to ensure successful implementation and operation of technology solutions.
Governance & Regulatory Compliance:
• Implement robust governance frameworks for managing technology changes, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards.
• Establish and enforce control measures within technology systems to align decisions with the organization's risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
• Ensure all technology changes undergo thorough testing and validation prior to deployment, minimizing risk exposure and ensuring system integrity.
Innovation & Strategic Transformation:
• Lead efforts to modernize technology platforms by incorporating advanced techniques to optimize decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and improve predictive capabilities.
• Identify and leverage emerging technology trends, tools, and platforms to transform the technology landscape and create competitive advantages.
• Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Team Leadership & Talent Development:
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of technology professionals, providing strategic direction and fostering optimal performance and engagement.
• Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills and capabilities to deliver complex technology projects, promoting collaboration and delivery excellence.
• Champion an inclusive and innovative team culture that prioritizes professional growth and cross-functional collaboration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across various departments (e.g., risk, IT, product, compliance) to ensure strategic alignment and effective technology execution.
• Engage with external partners, regulatory bodies, and industry peers to stay informed of best practices and advancements.
• Present technology delivery progress, key outcomes, and strategic insights to executive leadership and board members.
Performance Management & Financial Stewardship:
• Establish and monitor key performance metrics for technology initiatives, ensuring high-quality outcomes and on-time delivery.
• Provide regular reporting on technology delivery performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
• Manage technology budgets effectively, ensuring cost-efficient delivery of solutions and alignment with financial objectives.
Key Qualifications
• Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or financial field is required. Advanced certifications in specialized domains are a plus.
• Extensive Leadership Experience:
• Proven experience in managing high-performing agile development teams.
• Significant leadership experience in technology or financial services, overseeing large-scale technology and system development initiatives.
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex technology projects on time and within budget, especially in regulated environments.
• Domain & Technology Expertise:
• Extensive experience with critical decision engine technologies and analytics platforms.
• Deep understanding of core principles, decisioning models, and the operationalization of strategies through technology.
• Significant expertise in rules engine technologies, decisioning platforms, and risk management tools.
Strategic & Innovation Mindset:
• Experience leading technology transformation initiatives, including the adoption of advanced automation and AI/ML.
• A forward-thinking approach with the ability to identify and implement innovative technology solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and decision accuracy.
Regulatory & Compliance Acumen:
• Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape and experience ensuring technology solutions are compliant with industry regulations.
• A track record of successfully navigating regulatory changes and implementing compliant technology solutions.
Exceptional Communication & Stakeholder Management:
• Superior communication skills to engage effectively with senior leadership, technology teams, and external stakeholders on complex technical and strategic issues.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Financial Stewardship:
• Strong financial management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage large technology budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery.
