Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Technical Data Engineer to join our team. This role requires a strong technical foundation in Oracle SQL, Snowflake, Python and ETL, combined with expertise in data engineering tools and techniques. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven ability to work as data Engineer, driving data-driven insights and contributing to key business development activities. They will also be responsible for researching and evaluating emerging AI tools and techniques for potential application in data engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to full development life cycle, including requirements analysis, functional design, technical design, programming, testing, documentation, implementation, Agile practice and on-going technical support.
• Contribute to projects/CR’s utilizing Agile, GitHub, Lightspeed, DataBridge (UAL), Ab-Initio ETL, Python, Oracle SQL and Snowflake landscape.
• Ability and willingness to learn newer tools and technologies in cloud-based data engineering/Artificial intelligence arena and successfully deliver projects utilizing the same.
• Address a variety of responses to problems, questions, or situations by applying established criteria to directly influence development outcomes. In doing so, use the right technology to solve technical challenges required to deliver small scale features and functions and / or support aspects of a larger program effort.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Expected to provide sound understanding of application development concepts and principles and a basic knowledge of concepts and principles in other technological areas.
• Expected to use understanding/knowledge of Financial Accounting / General Ledgers concepts/principles to subscription (Outbound) development
• Develop/Modify/Test/Migrate DataBridge Subscriptions.
• Develop/Modify/Test/Migrate Map hub setups required to support FFS Subscriptions (outbounds).
• Migrate DataBridge (UAL) Subscriptions from Oracle to Snowflake data source.
• Verbal and written communication is clear and concise.
• Clearly articulate development and timeline dependencies.
• Have good working relationships with team members, managers and peers.
• Improve team development related processes that accelerate delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and improve quality.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in an Application Development role. Demonstrated execution capabilities.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; Data driven and results-oriented
• Experience with DataBridge (UAL) application and Subscription development.
• Experience working with Oracle SQL, Snowflake and AWS S3 buckets.
• Experience working with Financial Accounting / General Ledgers.
• Trained and certified in Python programming.
• Understanding of Scheduling platforms like Autosys and AWP (Citi Internal).
• Experience of Service now and Lightspeed for code deployment.
• Understanding of version control (git/Jenkins)
• Experience working as part of an agile team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge in Oracle SQL and ETL Tools (Like Ab-Initio).
• Fundamental knowledge of Financial Accounting / General Ledgers.
• Fundamental knowledge in Snowflake, AWS S3 and Cloud based Data engineering Solutions.
• Hands on experience of Unix Shell Scripting and Python.
• Strong knowledge of Service now, Lightspeed (desirable), Jenkins and CI/CD Pipeline
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• PySpark knowledge (desirable)
• General Ledger fundamentals and Finance full suite data knowledge (desirable)

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
