Job Overview

About Global Network Banking

Citi's Global Network Banking (GNB) is a cornerstone of our international franchise, dedicated to serving the dynamic needs of multinational corporations as they expand and operate across the globe. Leveraging Citi's unparalleled network spanning over 90 countries, GNB provides a single, integrated platform for clients to manage their global banking needs. Our role is to deliver the full breadth of Citi's solutions — from cash management, trade finance and FX management to strategic advisory and credit — enabling our clients to navigate the complexities of international markets, optimize their treasury and supply chain operations, manage risks and achieve their global growth ambitions.

Job Summary

The Vice President, Subsidiary Account Manager (SAM) is a senior client-facing banker within Citi's Global Network Banking team in France. This role is focused on managing and growing Citi's relationships with the local subsidiaries of our multinational clients, with a strong emphasis on deepening wallet penetration, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the seamless delivery of Citi's products and services within the French market. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of the French corporate banking landscape, a strong track record in relationship management, and the commercial drive to originate and execute high-value opportunities within a globally connected banking platform.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at clients' local subsidiaries in France, leveraging deep market insights and high-quality engagement.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of each local entity's business model, corporate strategy, and financial wallet to proactively identify and pursue revenue opportunities.

  • Maintain a strong and consistent coverage intensity to ensure responsive and proactive client engagement across the French market.

  • Lead with a strong origination mindset — identifying, structuring, and executing top revenue wallet opportunities with precision and commercial acuity.

2. In-Country Origination & Coverage

  • Drive in-country wallet share growth across a portfolio of key subsidiary clients, maximizing Citi's penetration within the French corporate market.

  • Deliver tailored banking solutions aligned to local market dynamics, sector-specific insights, and the broader strategic direction of each client's global parent organization.

  • Manage the local client pipeline effectively, partnering closely with in-country Product Specialists across Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), Markets, and other relevant product lines to deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions.

  • Act as a key point of connectivity between Citi's global account management teams (RAMs/PAMs) and local subsidiary contacts in France.

3. Local Strategy & Credit

  • Align account activities with both local and global strategic priorities, including country-specific campaigns, wallet sizing exercises, and corridor or product-led initiatives.

  • Contribute meaningfully to the development of local market strategy and support product development initiatives that respond to the specific needs of the French market.

  • Maintain strong credit knowledge with a focus on the credit needs and risk profile of local subsidiaries; support and assist in escalations from the Client Manager where required.

  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the French and EU regulatory environment as it pertains to corporate banking and credit risk.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in corporate or commercial banking, with a demonstrated track record in relationship management, origination, and sales within the French or broader European market.

  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the French corporate landscape, local economic trends, sector dynamics, and the relevant regulatory and compliance environment.

  • Credit Skills: Sound credit understanding and strong risk assessment capabilities, with the ability to assess and articulate the credit needs of local subsidiaries.

  • Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of corporate banking products, particularly Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), FX, and Markets; ability to position and tailor solutions to local client needs.

  • Client Focus: Demonstrable ability to build, maintain, and deepen strong executive-level client relationships, with a client-centric approach to everything.

  • Communication: Outstanding interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; ability to engage and influence across all levels of an organization — both internally and externally.

  • Languages: Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is required.

  • An MBA, CFA, Grande École qualification, or other advanced degree is strongly preferred.

“This Role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.”
