Job Summary
The Vice President, Subsidiary Account Manager & Head of Global Network Banking – France is a dual-mandate leadership role combining senior-level subsidiary relationship management with strategic oversight and leadership of Citi's GNB business in France. In addition to managing a high-value portfolio of multinational subsidiary clients, this individual will serve as the country lead for GNB France — setting the strategic agenda, driving business performance, and representing Citi's GNB franchise across key internal and external stakeholder forums. The successful candidate will be a commercially driven, relationship-focused banker with deep expertise in the French banking and corporate market, proven leadership capabilities, and a track record of delivering strong revenue growth and outstanding client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership – Head of GNB France
Provide strategic vision and hands-on leadership for the GNB business in France, defining and executing the country-level business plan in alignment with regional and global GNB objectives.
Serve as the primary senior representative of GNB France, engaging with country management, regional leadership, product heads, risk, compliance, legal, and other key internal partners.
Identify and capitalize on market opportunities within the French corporate landscape to drive revenue growth and expand Citi's footprint among multinational subsidiary clients.
Collaborate closely with Regional Account Managers (RAMs), Parent Account Managers (PAMs), and product specialists to ensure France-based subsidiary clients receive a fully integrated, world-class Citi experience.
Own and monitor country-level performance metrics; provide regular business updates and strategic reporting to regional GNB leadership.
Champion a culture of excellence, client-centricity, and continuous improvement across the GNB France team.
Lead, coach, and develop team members — fostering a high-performance, inclusive team environment focused on professional growth and client excellence.
2. Relationship Management
Build and nurture trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers and senior stakeholders at clients' local subsidiaries in France, leveraging deep market insights and high-quality strategic engagement.
Develop a thorough understanding of each local entity's business model, corporate strategy, and financial wallet to proactively identify and pursue high-value revenue opportunities.
Maintain a strong and consistent coverage intensity to ensure proactive and responsive client engagement across the French market at senior levels.
Lead origination efforts with commercial precision — identifying, structuring, and executing top-tier revenue opportunities across the portfolio.
3. In-Country Origination & Coverage
Drive in-country wallet share growth across a portfolio of key subsidiary clients, maximizing Citi's penetration and revenue within the French corporate market.
Deliver tailored, innovative banking solutions aligned to French market dynamics, sector-specific insights, and clients' broader global parent strategies.
Manage the local client pipeline effectively, partnering closely with in-country Product Specialists across Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), Markets, and other product lines to deliver integrated solutions.
Act as the senior point of connectivity between Citi's global account management framework and local subsidiary relationships in France.
4. Local Strategy & Credit
Align account activities and team efforts with local and global strategic priorities, including country-specific campaigns, wallet sizing exercises, and corridor or product-led initiatives.
Lead contributions to the development of GNB France's local market strategy and support product development initiatives tailored to the French corporate environment.
Maintain strong credit acumen with a focus on the credit needs and risk profiles of local subsidiaries; provide senior-level oversight and guidance on escalations from Client Managers and junior team members.
Ensure robust understanding of the French and EU regulatory environment as it relates to corporate banking, credit risk, and compliance obligations.
Qualifications:
Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate or commercial banking, with a demonstrated track record in relationship management, origination, and business leadership within the French or broader European market; prior experience managing a country-level business unit or contributing to P&L ownership is preferred.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams; comfortable operating with autonomy at a senior level while maintaining strong connectivity with regional and global stakeholders.
Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the French corporate banking landscape, local economic trends, sector dynamics, and the relevant French and EU regulatory environment.
Credit Skills: Sound credit understanding and strong risk assessment capabilities, with the ability to assess and clearly articulate the credit needs and risk considerations for local subsidiary portfolios.
Product Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of corporate banking products, particularly Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), FX, and Markets; ability to position and tailor Citi's full suite of solutions to local client needs.
Strategic Acumen: Ability to translate global and regional GNB priorities into actionable, locally relevant strategies — identifying growth levers and commercial opportunities within the French market.
Client Focus: Demonstrable ability to build, sustain, and deepen executive-level client relationships, with an unwavering commitment to client-centricity and service excellence.
Communication: Outstanding interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; the ability to influence and engage credibly across all levels of an organization, from local treasury teams to global C-suite stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is required.
An MBA, CFA, Grande École qualification, or other advanced degree is strongly preferred.
This Role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.
