Job Overview
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Correspondent Fulfillment is a key leadership role responsible for the comprehensive oversight and strategic direction of Correspondent mortgage operations. This position involves actively managing and coordinating activities related to both Delegated and Non-Delegated underwriting, optimizing the client journey throughout the mortgage purchase process. The SVP will collaborate with the channel leader and others to drive strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining rigorous quality standards, and ensuring alignment with Citi's overall business objectives. Furthermore, a critical aspect of this role is the direct management of internal and external examinations, including those from Internal Audit, various regulatory bodies such as the OCC and CFPB, and agencies like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, ensuring strict adherence to all compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Guide and develop underwriting and processing managers, offering mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to cultivate a high-achieving team.
- Cultivate exceptional customer satisfaction, proactively manage expectations, and nurture collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners.
- Lead the oversight of the risk and controls framework, ensuring timely escalation of any identified breaches to appropriate groups
- Track critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), interpret productivity data, and design individualized development plans to foster career progression.
- Manage financial performance to achieve profit and loss (P&L) objectives, adapting strategies as needed to align with broader organizational budgets and goals.
- Research and implement industry-leading practices to enhance team operational efficiency and contribute to cost reduction initiatives.
- Play a key role in conceiving and implementing new procedures, operational strategies, and overarching business goals for the mortgage department.
- Regularly present comprehensive business updates on key performance metrics to various stakeholders. Inclusive of any internal and external exam management by various regulators. (Ex. OCC, CFPB & Agency’s)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of related experience, in depth knowledge of credit policies inclusive of Fannie, Freddie and traditional Non-Agency programs.
- Executive level presentations skill, creating and delivering presentations
- Strong business knowledge coupled with management, organization, administrative and relationship management skills
- Ability to influence others effectively and create support and buy-in across a wide range of stakeholders by using communication processes to ensure understanding and alignment
- Highly developed process, analytical and project management skills
