Are you a highly skilled and motivated Senior Business Analyst looking to make a significant impact in the dynamic world of finance? Join our cutting-edge technology team and play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing our proprietary “Margin Calculations and Reporting” Platform, a critical component of our Prime Finance Services organization. This is an exceptional opportunity to apply your Business Analyst expertise to complex, computing-intensive financial solutions within a collaborative and globally connected environment.

This role is at the heart of our Prime Services division, where you will contribute to the evolution of a sophisticated margin calculation engine. This engine leverages a complex model and intricate business logic to provide leverage to clients and reduce risk for Citi, directly impacting our financial operations. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be instrumental in delivering end-to-end software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and robustness for our critical financial systems globally.

The cross-functional team supports system with UI, backend and reporting modules extensively used by Prime Finance business globally

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Business Analyst in our Prime Finance Margin team, you will be the driving force behind critical business initiatives, acting as the crucial link between business strategy and technological execution. You will take a leading role in analyzing complex business processes, defining requirements for key projects, and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions that shape the future of our financial services.

Solution Delivery & Execution

  • Drive requirement elicitation and analysis for new projects, working closely with global business users and product development teams to define their needs and asks.
  • Gather, document, and secure sign-off on comprehensive business, functional, and technical requirement documents to ensure clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Translate business needs into actionable development tasks, providing continuous support and clarification to the development and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Strategic Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Lead the analysis and re-engineering of current business processes, identifying gaps and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Analyze and model complex data, creating clear mock-ups and diagrams to visualize solutions and validate requirements with stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Act as the primary liaison between business users and technologists, ensuring information is exchanged in a concise, logical, and understandable way.
  • Communicate critical updates and coordinate dependencies with representatives from upstream and downstream systems to ensure seamless integration.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on your projects, confidently addressing questions and providing guidance to business, development, and QA teams.

Quality Assurance & Business Support

  • Design and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), meticulously validating that solutions meet business needs and presenting the final results for business approval.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing business operations, answering Business As Usual (BAU) inquiries and assisting with production support to ensure smooth day-to-day functionality.

Required skills:

  • 6-10 years of business analyst experience
  • Requirements elicitation and documenting (BRD / FRD, JIRA)
  • User acceptance testing
  • SQL knowledge for data analysis and presentation
  • Advanced Excel knowledge (pivot tables, vlookup, mcaros)
  • Understanding of financial markets (equities, derivatives, fixed income)
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills with ability to partner and influence across organizational lines
  • Proven ability of using complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred

Nice to have skills:

  • Knowledge of Prime Brokerage, front / middle / back office operations, margin financing is a plus
  • Regulatory projects (Reg T, PM)
  • MS Visio, Balsamiq, other tools for data mocking and presentation

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$129,840.00 - $194,760.00
