M&A Sr. Lead Analyst - C13/VP - NEW YORK
Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) provides internal advisory and deal execution services to executives and business heads throughout the organization, including close collaboration with legal, finance/accounting, tax and other areas for all business units and geographies across Citigroup and its subsidiaries. Projects include acquisitions and other expansionary transactions, divestitures, transaction management, corporate valuation, sell-side auctions, exploratory M&A analysis and advisement of senior executives and Board of Directors and completion of the Separability workstream for Citi’s annual recovery and resolution plans (RRP).
The M&A Sr. Lead Analyst has day-to-day project management responsibility for the execution of acquisitions and divestitures, and the other similar projects in support of a Managing Director and/or Director. The role requires overseeing the financial analysis, preparation and evaluation of marketing materials, coordination of due diligence including preparation of the management team for due diligence, analysis and review of key transaction issues with all Citigroup functional team leaders, and presentation of key business/legal issues and financial impact of the contemplated transaction to senior management. The role includes the support of planning processes that evaluate multiple scenarios and structures for acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments and special situations with engagement internally across businesses and internal teams, as well as externally, with counterparties and advisors in the marketplace.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in various aspects of assessing and executing strategic transactions for Citi
- Contributes to the identification, analysis and prioritization of strategic transaction targets, contacting prospective targets or their professional advisors to discuss opportunities
- Assists in developing financial models and projections, assembling and coordinating due diligence processes
- Executes complex financial modeling and portfolio analysis to evaluate the financial consequences of M&A activity including valuation, gain on sale calculations, earnings per share accretion/dilution, and capital and liquidity analysis.
- Assists in the negotiation and documentation of transactions, coordinating internal approval processes and assisting in the preparation of related presentation and notification materials
- Aids in the closing and integration of assets into Citi’s management structure, operating and financial reporting platforms and other systems
- Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations.
- Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
- Works with cross-functional teams to ensure proper review of transactions by all control functions.
- Represents the M&A team in the preparation of annual Resolution and Recovery plans to be presented to U.S. regulators, including the Federal Reserve and the FDIC.
- Monitors regulatory changes in the U.S. and internationally and assess the potential impact on Recovery and Resolution Planning activities.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience as a professional in investment banking with significant M&A exposure. Excellent analytical and modeling skills. solid Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills

$142,320.00 - $213,480.00
