About the Team:

The Finance Regulatory Engagement & Oversight team works closely with stakeholders to drive and execute end-to-end regulatory engagement and deliverables across Citi Finance activities, which span global Finance groups, Finance functions, and technology and business partners. This global team leads engagements, identifies priorities, strategically coordinates efforts and tracks progress, while defining and implementing best practices.

About the Role:

The Finance Regulatory Engagement Communications and Reporting Director leads the directional strategy of regulatory remediation progress reports to regulators and internal reporting to senior management. As a strong project manager adept at working in cross-functional teams, you will coach and lead a small team five to six people in preparing written correspondence, presentations and talking points for engagements with executive management and regulators. You will also manage risks and controls for the Finance Regulatory Engagement team. This role requires thought leadership, strong diplomacy and communication skills in order to lead colleagues across the firm in producing materials that are transparent, comprehensive and clear. This role reports to the Finance Regulatory Engagement & Oversight Managing Director based in New York.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for a team responsible for internal and external communications and reporting, meeting risk and control requirements and oversee content and preparation for regulatory reporting and engagement.

· Serves as a trusted business advised to help facilitate development of materials and prepare for discussions/responses to regulatory agencies.

· Works with senior stakeholders across Finance and the broader firm regulatory engagement team to ensure consistency of regulatory responses.

· Maintains a content library, so that messaging can be applied consistently across regulatory documents; manage ongoing updates and version control.

· Proactively builds timelines and clear expectations regarding delivery of regulatory materials and responses, informing stakeholders of actions and deadlines, following up as needed, taking ownership of the overall delivery of the end product.

· Develops and implements common standards, procedures and governance processes to establish best practices for regulatory relations and communications protocols (e.g. timely responses, escalations, transparency).

· Serves as critical interaction point for Finance partners on regulatory related matters and deliverables, provide constructive feedback on materials, provide guidance to align to regulatory expectations and content development.

· Provides clear, concise and balanced updates to senior forums and Citi internal governance committees, on Citi Finance’s regulatory commitments and engagements.

· Partners with global and Finance regulatory engagement partners and business partners to ensure consistency in approach and align messaging across Citi.

· Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

· Responsible for internal risk and control requirements, business continuity and personnel/team reporting.

Competencies:

· Proven leadership with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

· Multi-year experience working with executives at the executive management team level.

· Proven track record of successfully guiding teams through complex change.

· Analytical and strategic mindset with ability to simplify complex information quickly.

· Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and speaking skills, as well as creative ability to devise communication strategies.

· Communication and diplomacy skills to guide and influence others.

· Confident and has ability to structure, summarize, present project status as well as defend recommendations and outcomes.

· Ability to management high quality, timely deliverables on a consistent basis.

· Self-starter who brings high sense of urgency to assignments and goals.

· Comfortable with ambiguity and change and working in a large, complex organization.

· High degree of integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

· 15+ years of relevant experience in financial services, regulatory engagement or consulting.

· Proven leadership in managing staff and leading senior working groups.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide variety of people across functions / seniority.

· Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in written responses to regulators such quarter progress reports, follow up requests or correspondence related to MRA, MRIA, exam findings or other actions is a plus.

· Strong experience in driving governance and controls.

· Understanding and application of project management methodologies across delivery life cycle.

· Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree; experience in compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof; extensive experience in area of focus; previous experience managing a diverse staff; Advanced degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
