CTI/US Pensions Team - Private Assets Investment Analyst - C12/AVP
The US Pensions Investment (“USPI“) team is the investment management team that manages and invests the assets of the Plans. USPI team is responsible for managing the Citi's US Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution retirement plans of a total $35 billion and advises on the Asset Allocation and Investment strategy for all the International Pension Plans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide critical analytical support to the Private Assets Investment Officers and Operations in all aspects of portfolio asset management across diverse sub-asset classes
- Participate in new investment and operational due diligence by analyzing prospective funds via track record analyses of historical cash flows and performance data to verify investment manager track record returns
- Support the monthly and quarterly reporting processes through close partnership with the Operations teams
- Assist Investment Officers in monitoring portfolio positions, which entails participating in regular meetings with fund managers and obtaining portfolio performance updates
- Prepare ad-hoc reports, special projects, and various presentations for both internal team members and the Plan Committees
- Conducts portfolio analysis using risk tools and analytical tools
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned by the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), including reporting requirements on Risk, Compliance, Finance and Audit
- Assist in the review Pension and 401K Plans activities such as wire transfers, subscriptions and new investments, redemptions, capital calls, wire transfers, book transfers, foreign currency, call backs and other and sure that all transactions are properly supported.
- Assist in the new investments and redemption process.
- Assists in providing accurate and timely feedback on all audit requests
- Assists with the month-end valuation and performance calculations
- Provide critical support to the Pension Plan Investment Committee and 401(k) Plan Investment Committee by developing the Plan’s quantitative analytics, which are used to monitor and analyze the investment, operation and risk composition of the US Pension and 401(k) plans
- Monitor funds closely, as part of the fiduciary responsibility, that have not performed as expected or engaged in activities that are not part of investment letter
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's and plans reputation and safeguarding plan assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Utilize Private Equity models and Custodian systems to perform required analysis as needed.
- Create quantitative analysis and modules to optimize and automate ongoing analytical processes
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of experience in a related role
- Solid understanding of financial products.
- Must have advanced analytical skills but also the ability to see the big picture
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Results-driven, with an ability to deliver high-quality work
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Attention to detail, desire for accuracy, and intellectual curiosity with a desire to understand the various underlying sub-asset classes
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, passion for results and personal accountability for achievement.
- Proficiency with standard analysis tools (Excel / Access / Power Point)
- Quantitative background and Python programing knowledge
- Exercises effective project management
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and ability to interact with all levels of management
- Must be a team player
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or other related quantitative field.

$109,120.00 - $163,680.00
