Job Overview

Citi is seeking a Commercial Cards Client Executive Lead at the Senior Vice President level to own and grow a portfolio of strategic global client relationships while leading a high-performing team of Client Executives within Citi's Commercial Cards business. In this senior role, you will sit at the intersection of client strategy, commercial growth, and team leadership — directly shaping the performance and direction of one of Citi's most impactful client-facing functions. Your work will influence client outcomes, revenue results, and the professional development of the team around you.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Commercial Cards Client Executives, setting clear performance expectations through team KPIs that cover client engagement, deal pipeline activity, and revenue outcomes.
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner for a portfolio of key global clients, acting as their primary advocate and ensuring consistent satisfaction, retention, and commercial growth.
  • Partner with Global Solution Sales and Banking Relationship Coverage teams to identify revenue expansion opportunities and execute cross-sell strategies across both personal and team-managed accounts.
  • Work closely with Commercial Card functional groups including (but not limited to) Product, Service, Finance, Legal, Risk Management and Fraud.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle for renewals and incremental deals, including building pricing models, leading client negotiations, and finalizing agreements.
  • Monitor and ensure deal ramp in accordance with booked deal values.
  • Coach team members through client meetings, escalations, and deal execution, providing senior-level guidance that builds individual capability and raises overall team performance.
  • Conduct regular spend and revenue forecasting for assigned accounts, and oversee the team's forecasting activities to ensure profitability is accurately tracked and reported.
  • Ensure team activities, CRM documentation, and client programs remain fully aligned with Citi's governance, risk, and compliance standards — including KYC and AML requirements.
  • Prepare and present portfolio performance reports and strategic updates for senior leadership, translating client and market insights into actionable business recommendations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 10 or more years of experience in client relationship management, relationship sales, or business development within commercial cards, commercial payments, or a closely related financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, with a history of managing team performance through clearly defined KPIs and structured coaching frameworks.
  • Ability to own and grow complex, senior-level client relationships across large, globally operating organizations.
  • Advanced analytical capability, with hands-on experience building revenue forecasting models and tracking commercial performance metrics.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial acumen, with experience leading end-to-end contract and pricing processes.
  • Clear and persuasive communicator, able to influence senior client stakeholders, internal partners, and team members with credibility and precision.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant commercial environment.
  • 10%-20% travel will be required.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant business or financial discipline.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and experience embedding data-driven pipeline management practices within a client-facing team.
  • Background in capital markets, institutional banking, or broader financial advisory services, providing additional context for client strategy conversations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects spanning product, technology, onboarding, or service delivery teams.
  • Understanding of Commercial Cards and how product’s P&L functions at an industry level.
