Working at Citi is far more than just a job. A career with us means joining a team of approximately 219,000 dedicated people from around the globe. At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact.

Job Overview

Citi's Banking group is looking for an Analyst to join the Corporate Banking, Sustainability and Corporate Transitions team, based in New York City.

If you're ready to bring your knowledge from the classroom to the conference room, we would love to help you get there.

Corporate Bankers drive client dialogue on capital structure, liability management, liquidity and funding strategies, risk management, and investment solutions. Unique to Citi, Corporate Bankers are also responsible for deciding where to invest the firm's capital and executing on those investments.

The Corporate Banking, Sustainability and Corporate Transitions team plays a pivotal role in the definition and implementation of Citi’s global strategy for decarbonization and sustainability. The team works in partnership with various groups across the firm including sector Corporate and Investment Banking Teams, Capital Markets, Corporate Functions, Climate Risk and Institutional Credit Management (ICM), to deliver advice, corporate finance and banking solutions across all sectors to support the firm’s goals related to sustainable and nature-positive outcomes, as well as to manage Citi’s sustainability goals where Banking is responsible.

We provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed

We're committed to teaching you the ropes. The 2-year Analyst Program starts in July 2027 and begins with a 10-week, in-depth training program. While you're in the Analyst role, you're eligible to participate in Citi's mentorship program, which will provide further training and guidance during and after the Program. By the third year of the program, Analysts will have the opportunity to take advantage of internal mobility opportunities.

Your time here will look something like this:

  • Collaborating with sector banking teams, risk officers, and senior leadership to support the implementation of strategies for decarbonization, as well as assessing client-related climate risk considerations.
  • Developing cross-sectoral expertise to support ongoing dialogues with clients about climate and energy transition plans, potential emissions reduction strategies, and addressing sector-specific challenges to realize sustainable finance opportunities.
  • Supporting the end-to-end processes of assessing clients' climate and low-carbon transition profiles within sectors relevant to Citi's 2030 targets under the net zero commitment.
  • Conducting accounting and financial analysis, and capital markets analysis, including working with complex emissions accounting models.
  • Engaging with third-party organizations and external vendors to stay abreast of evolving climate frameworks, tools, and data solutions.
  • Furthering the development and integration of climate risk management capabilities.
  • Conducting research on sectoral trends, macro impacts, and evolving policies, and synthesizing findings into compelling internal and client-facing materials.

We want to hear from you if:

  • You are planning to obtain your undergraduate degree between December 2026 and June 2027 and have a preferred GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • You have internship experience, coursework, or a genuine passion to work at the intersection of sustainability and finance.
  • You have foundational Excel and data analysis skills that can be applied to evolving topics within the areas of climate, sustainability, and energy transition.
  • You are proactive in driving significant workstreams and contributing to strategic initiatives.
  • You are commercially oriented, highly motivated to win and seek to succeed with a winning team.

Who we think will be a great fit:

Dedication to learning and a passion for business are vital. As industries all over the globe evolve, grow, and adopt sustainable strategies and ambitions, we are hiring professionals with a global perspective on the future of banking, and want to make an impact at the corporate level.

We’ll also be looking for the following:

  • Desire to develop a deep understanding of the finance industry and the intersection with sustainability.
  • Deep attention to detail and strong communication and project management skills, especially managing workstreams with senior visibility.
  • Evident passion for collaborating with others and dedication to deliver the best results on every project.
  • Exceptional work ethic, with the ability to multitask and work in a high-performance professional environment under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to further workstreams and think independently.
  • Rock-solid commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making.
  • Knowledge of evolving macro trends and global and domestic business landscape is a plus, but not required.
