Citi’s Risk Management organization oversees Citi’s risk governance framework and risk appetite, ensures all risks generated by the firm’s businesses are measured, reviewed, and monitored on an ongoing basis.

We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Vice President - Stress Testing Applications Lead - Hybrid. In this role, you’re expected to:

Individuals in the Enterprise Risk Management are entrusted with managing the diverse and collective impact of the bank's risks. This involves identifying and managing enterprise-level and cross-cutting risks, designing scenarios for stress tests, managing climate risk, and safeguarding against reputational risk. This role is integral to the overarching objectives of the bank, as it ensures the bank's operations are within defined risk appetite and helps maintain financial stability. The role provides a comprehensive view of risk management, enabling the bank to anticipate, assess, and mitigate potential risks, crucial for the bank's sustained growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide stress testing exercises, designing them with loss forecasting for early identification, quantification, and mitigation of emerging risks. Oversee, review, and challenge the exercise's effectiveness.

  • Lead the development and delivery of bespoke quantitative approaches to apply stress scenarios to live risk exposures and forecast future losses. Oversee and challenge the approaches' accuracy and usefulness.

  • Assess estimated and forecasted losses in relation to the firm's risk appetite, comparing potential losses with the firm's risk capacity and tolerance, suggesting necessary steps to manage forecasted risk. Oversee the accuracy of this assessment and challenge any discrepancies.

  • Oversee coordination with cross-disciplinary teams for clear definition and achievement of all project requirements related to stress testing and loss forecasting. Ensure deadlines and schedules are met and provide broad exposure to senior stakeholders across risk management departments including Risk Reporting, Data Analytics and Technology.

  • Interpret the results of stress testing, loss forecasting, and other risk assessments, presenting the key findings in a concise visual form for Citi’s top management and the Board of Directors. Oversee, review, and challenge the quality and impact of these presentations.

  • Collaborate closely with the Risk Reporting, Data Analytics and Technology departments to streamline procedures, improve risk management strategies, and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of loss forecasting models. Oversee the implementation of these processes and challenge any inefficiencies, promoting a proactive approach to risk management throughout the organization.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of teams and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience within Project Management domain in Market Risk/Credit Risk/Stress Testing domain

  • Understanding of various risk categories, including Financial and Non-Financial risks, facilitating comprehensive oversight, review, and challenge of risk management strategies.

  • Familiarity with the Global regulatory landscape, with the ability to oversee, review, and challenge practical application of this knowledge.

  • Exposure to managing regulatory inspections and audits within a financial services company, enabling effective oversight and challenge of compliance processes.

  • Project management experience, with a record of successfully overseeing, reviewing, and challenging collaborative efforts to meet project milestones and deadlines.

  • Commercial awareness and knowledge in the field of risk management, providing a solid foundation for oversight, review, and challenge.

  • Understanding of credit and operational policies and procedures, including collateral management processes, enabling effective review and challenge in these areas.

  • Experience in a compliance, audit, or similar control or governance role within a banking or financial institution, providing a strong platform for effective oversight, review, and challenge.

  • Understanding of relevant regulatory guidance (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) ) and experience in conducting macroeconomic/market stress tests, allowing effective review and challenge of compliance and risk management strategies.

  • Superior problem-solving capabilities with a 'can do' attitude, supporting effective challenge under tight timelines.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills for clear explanation and challenge of complex topics.

  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret complex data into actionable strategies with the ability to oversee and challenge this process.

  • Exceptional proficiency in project management tools (preferably JIRA), and quick adaptability to new technologies.

  • Proficiency in risk analysis and stress testing methodologies, enabling effective challenge of these methods.

  • Excellent leadership skills to drive a team towards common goals and motivate individuals, with the capacity to oversee and challenge team performance.

  • Strong networking skills for effective negotiation and relationship building, both internally and externally.

  • High adaptability to respond to changes in the business environment and industry trends, to effectively challenge new risk scenarios.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
