By Joining Citi, you will become part of a global organization whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.
Team/Role Overview:
This specific role sits within our Client On-Boarding Team which is part of our Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) function within our Institutional Client Group (ICG).
Simply put, we work with a wide range of corporate clients, many of which are household names, to help enable their day-to-day banking needs across a broad range of products (e-commerce, payments to suppliers, collections from customers, payroll, treasury funding, supply chain financing, corporate credit cards for travel expenses, etc.).
Our team helps client access these products and services digitally, setting up interfaces between our client’s systems and ours utilizing our award-winning digital banking suite of products – CitiConnect API, CitiConnect for Files, CitiConnect for SWIFT and CitiDirect.
What you will do:
You will work in a multi-client, multi-project environment where you will be responsible for providing overall end-to-end ownership of the technical solution and client delivery by:
- Partnering with our Sales teams to help our clients understand our products and technical capabilities to make sure they get the most out of the technical solution they are looking to implement
- Supporting our clients through their development process giving them access to applicable technical documentation and guidance as they progress through their client on-boarding journey with us
- Configuring Citi’s applications in accordance with the technical solution that is being delivered and owning the engagement of internal and 3rd party teams as required to get the setup completed on time and to specification
- Supporting our clients through their DEV / SIT / UAT / QC testing utilising our dedicated Customer Test Environment to give ‘real-life’ validation and provide clients with confidence that the solution we have configured is working as expected
- Coordinating the change management process to deploy a client’s configuration and setup into our live environment and support our clients through initial production verification testing (PVT)
- Partnering with a Project Manager who will be responsible for providing the overall governance for the client engagement (we just do the ‘techie’ bits)
What we will need from you:
Very few people have done this exact role before, so we are open minded and like to have people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Although a technical mind-set is required to be successful in the role, the specific technical knowledge related to electronic banking projects (e.g. connectivity, security, file formats, testing, etc) is not a mandatory requirement for an applicant, although favourable. As long as you have the willingness to learn, and the ability to pick up things quickly you will be considered.
There are however some key attributes which we look for to give you the best foundation to becoming successful in this role:
- Great communicator – must be comfortable speaking with people of varying levels of seniority and technical knowledge both internally and externally (we are a client facing team after all!)
- Technical acumen – you don’t need to be from a technology background (most of us in the team aren’t) but you need to be able to be comfortable diving into technical discussions, understanding technical documentation, solving technical problems
- Ability to handle a mixed workload – you will be working with several clients on several projects in parallel. You need to be able to manage your time effectively and efficiently to make sure all your clients get the attention they need to keep them moving forwards
- Empowered – you act as the single technical point of contact to face off to the client and need to represent our clients interests internally. You need to be comfortable in pushing our internal partners across technology, operations, and product in getting the right results to deliver an exceptional client experience
- Bonus points if you have any of these skills / experiences:
- Cash Management knowledge (Payments & Receivables).
- Host to Host Banking technical knowledge (highly preferable):

- System integration:
- Getting systems speaking to each other
- XML – a familiarity with the message format
- API / webservices – building or designing interfaces
- Payments (e.g. SEPA / SWIFT / Instant Payment Schemes, etc)
- Types of jobs you may have done previously that make you a good candidate (but not limited to): Business Analyst, Professional Services, Technical Customer Support, Technical Consultant, Technology Project Manager, Payments Specialist
- Contribute and participate in process re-engineering activities to ensure we continue to strive forwards in terms of quality and efficiency in everything we do.
- Common sense – ability to step back and analyse a situation with a pragmatic, methodical approach.
