Job Overview

Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS) protects Citi and its clients' assets and reputation as the industry-leading security, investigations, and intelligence provider. Our Business Analytics team, part of the CSIS Chief Operations Office, provides data-driven insights and actionable solutions to support strategic decision-making for Citi and CSIS leadership.

We are seeking a motivated and technically curious Junior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst - Report Developer to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to learn and grow within the BI domain, transforming data into actionable insights. You will work under the guidance of senior analysts, gaining hands-on experience with leading BI tools like IBM Cognos Analytics or Tableau. Your primary focus will be to support the design, development, and delivery of high-quality reports and dashboards that assist strategic and operational decision-making. You will collaborate with business users, data engineers, and analysts to understand requirements and create intuitive visualizations.

The CSIS Business Intelligence Analyst - Report Developer will report to the CSIS Data Analytics Group Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of dashboards, visualizations, and operational reports using Cognos and/or Tableau, based on business requirements.
  • Support senior analysts in understanding KPIs, metrics, and data insights to drive business decisions.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and optimization of existing data models (e.g., Cognos Framework Manager, Tableau data sources) for enterprise reporting.
  • Learn and apply best practices in data visualization, dashboard usability, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to integrate and transform data from various sources into a unified reporting layer.
  • Participate in data analysis and QA testing to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business definitions.
  • Help create and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials to support BI adoption.
  • Stay current with BI technology trends and identify opportunities for learning new tools or methodologies.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a reporting and data environment.

Technical Skills

  • BI Tool Exposure: Familiarity with tools like Tableau, Power BI, Cognos.
  • SQL Fundamentals: Basic SQL for data querying (SELECT, WHERE, JOINs).
  • Excel Proficiency: Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, charts, data validation).
  • Data Concepts: Basic understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and data visualization principles.

Analytical Skills

  • Data Interpretation: Ability to understand data and identify trends.
  • Problem-Solving: Logical approach to reporting challenges.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness for accuracy in reporting.

Soft Skills

  • Communication: Clear verbal and written articulation of findings.
  • Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn new tools and methods.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team.
