Job Overview
The Business Execution Lead (VP) is a senior people manager responsible for leading and developing a high performing team that serves as the analytical and operational backbone of Citi's Banking Team. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, data, analysis and execution — partnering closely with Business Managers, Senior Management, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive informed decision-making, franchise performance, and client coverage excellence. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership credentials, a deep understanding of investment banking metrics and M&A analytics, and the ability to inspire, mentor, and grow a team of analysts and associates across multiple franchise units.
People Management & Leadership
As a VP people manager, this role carries full accountability for team leadership, talent strategy, and organizational culture within the Business Execution function.
Hiring & Talent Acquisition: Lead end-to-end recruitment for the Business Execution team — defining role requirements, partnering with HR, conducting structured interviews, and making hiring decisions that build a diverse, high-caliber team.
Training & Onboarding: Design and oversee structured onboarding programs and ongoing training curriculam covering business metrics, analytical tools, franchise processes, and Citi's internal systems (CIS, Toolbox, wallet data platforms).
Mentoring & Coaching: Serve as a trusted mentor to analysts and associates — providing regular feedback, career guidance, and stretch assignments that accelerate professional growth and build analytical depth.
Talent Development & Succession: Identify high-potential team members, create individual development plans, and build a robust succession pipeline. Champion internal mobility and cross-franchise rotations to broaden team capabilities.
Performance Management: Conduct regular 1:1s, mid-year and year-end performance reviews, and calibration sessions. Set clear, measurable goals aligned to franchise priorities and ensure timely, constructive feedback cycles.

Sponsor & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for Business Managers and Senior Management across multiple franchise units, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on priorities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior sponsors, including Managing Directors and franchise heads, to advocate for the Business Execution team's mandate and resource needs.
Manage relationships with key internal partner teams including product partners, AMC, CIS, Toolbox, Finance, and Technology — ensuring timely delivery of client coverage changes, data requests, and system updates.
Represent the Business Execution function in senior forums, franchise reviews, and cross-divisional working groups, presenting insights and recommendations with confidence and clarity.
Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure consistent positive feedback from bankers, product partners, and senior leadership across franchises.
Serve as a sponsor and champion for key franchise initiatives, driving cross-functional alignment and ensuring accountability for deliverables.
Core Business Execution Responsibilities
Oversee and quality-assure the running and analysis of internal business metrics data including client revenue, returns, backlog management, client calling intensity, exposure, and risk capital.
Lead wallet analysis and market share tracking — including querying wallet data, investigating discrepancies with Citi's internal systems, and maintaining accurate Wallet Ranking and Market Share reporting.
Ensure the team delivers high-quality reports and presentations on franchise performance for senior management, with a focus on revenue and backlog analysis, calling intensity by client and product, and target market reviews.
Oversee revenue analysis processes, including investigations into missing or incorrectly booked revenues, and coordinate with partnering teams and product partners to ensure accurate revenue recording.
Manage the end-to-end process for Client Coverage and Client Attribute changes, liaising with CIS and Toolbox teams to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Ensure the team maintains clear, proactive communication with bankers, Business Execution Leads, and product partners on all business metrics including client prioritization, coverage, revenue, returns, and pipeline.
Step up as the escalation point for all team pressure points, ensuring seamless delivery on client asks and franchise commitments even under tight timelines.
Support various franchise initiatives and internal strategy presentations, ensuring the team's analytical output is consistently accurate, insightful, and presentation-ready.
Strategic Planning & Franchise Execution
- Partner with Business Managers and Senior Management to define and execute the Business Execution team's strategic roadmap, aligning team priorities with franchise-level objectives and Citi's broader institutional goals.
- Lead the planning, execution, and follow-up of key management disciplines including franchise reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), client planning sessions, and project-specific workstreams.
- Drive continuous improvement in the team's analytical frameworks, reporting infrastructure, and workflow processes to enhance speed, accuracy, and impact of business insights.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data, technology, and automation to improve the efficiency and quality of business metrics reporting and analysis.
- Contribute to the development of internal strategy presentations for senior management, synthesizing complex data into clear, actionable narratives on franchise performance, revenue trends, and market positioning.
